Smith has been fantastic.Hopefully he cools off.

Goose back in and was on the 4th line in practice today. I 'm not sure if thats where he will be during the game.

hottytoddy 10-30-2008 12:51 AM

So...wait...he still has the Mullet? And these guys have no defense. We should roll over them 5-3.

Myllz 10-30-2008 04:01 AM

I'm guessing Prince Vince puts up 3 points on us alone. It'll probably take 4-5 goals to outscore him and win this one.

bflohockeygirl 10-30-2008 05:38 AM

3-2, Sabres, OT.

Crazy Tasty 10-30-2008 06:12 AM

It seems like players always seem to get their 'landmarks' against Buffalo.
I have a feeling Stamkos nets his first NHL goal against us, then adds another.

nice GDT!

this would be a good time for the sabres to play 60 minutes of hockey!

:sabres!!!!

CrankyJay 10-30-2008 07:04 AM

5-1 Lightning

'Ning, 2 - 1.

I'm feeling a frustrating loss.

I'd rather the Sabres wait till 7PM tonight to play 60-minutes of hockey.

From today's Buffalo News:

Quote:

Paul Gaustad took a one-timer at the end of practice Wednesday, and it was a rocket. The puck glanced off the goaltender's arm and continued into the net.

Gaustad raised his stick, smiled broadly and shouted, "I'm back!"

Welcome back, Goose! :D

Bobby Bottle Service 10-30-2008 11:09 AM

While the return of Goose will definitely be a lift, if our D can't limit TB's 2nd/3rd/4th chances in front of the net, we're in for a long night.

On the plus side, TSN's website has 3 Sabres news clips on their website (two for Mair). As they say, there's no such thing as bad publicity.

That said, I am an eternal optimist (prozac prescription)... 'Bres win 4-3 in a shootout. Vinny pulls a Hinske and whiffs on TB's last chance in the shootout.

Jame 10-30-2008 11:12 AM

at home, coming off an embarrassing loss, i feel an offensive breakout. 5-2 Sabres

Duffman 10-30-2008 11:40 AM

According to Gobolt7 on the Lightning board, tonights officials are:

Stephane Auger #15
Tom Kowal #32

Mike Cvik #88
Tim Nowak #77

Burgmania 10-30-2008 11:56 AM

Sounds good to me, DuffMan. Thanks for the info.

Please consult your GDT for the following information:

Tonight's officials are:

Stephane Auger & Tom Kowal

Mike Cvik & Tim Nowak

Also, Buffalo's Henrik Tallinder will participate in warm-ups tonight. According to Sabres coach Lindy Ruff, "He is going to go out for warm-ups and if he feels good, he will play tonight."

joshjull 10-30-2008 12:09 PM

So if Tallinder is a go and obviously Weber will still be here. Who sits Paestch or Weber?

Paetsch sits, then Weber goes back down after he plays tonight. Just my hunch.

i hope thats what we see

ZemgusWho 10-30-2008 12:52 PM

7-3. I just have a feeling that the Tampa D isn't going to be able to do much. They should get their opportunities though. I don't know how Smith has been so good with that D in front of him.

sabreRT 10-30-2008 01:13 PM

15-1 Buffaslugs

I think we'll win but I am not as confident as you RT, 3-2 Buffalo as two of the best goalies battle each other with Miller getting the advantage.

Tra La La 10-30-2008 02:18 PM

Back to back losses. A horrendous game against Ottawa. Gut Check time. We'll see what this team is made of. Either they elevate, or they wallow.
