All Star Ballot Talk - all talk goes here!

So, the All Star voting begins next week. Being the Habs 100th anniversary, we really need to get some good representation there - and that means Habs fans all over the world have to vote as much as possible to get our players there.

First and foremost - Kovalev HAS to be there this year. The skills competition is just not the same without a guy like him, especially since the all star game is here.

I would love to see Koivu there as well, he has given so much to the Habs and he really deserves to be on the ice in the 100th anniversary year.

Markov more than likely will get in because he is quite popular in the league, and that's cool because he should be there.

I think that's it, however it would be cool for Price to be there but I don't think he's All Star material just yet. :)

Thoughts everyone? Let's get the voting going BIGTIME!! It's our year to show the league that Habs fans are the best in the NHL.

Some Wings fans from the Wings board have agreed to vote for the 6 Habs player as starters for the ASG, and in exchange, we'd vote for their 6 players to be starters as well...

Think about it... An original 6 matchup for the ASG... All Wings vs All Habs... It would be awesome...

Let's make it even more interesting by voting-in 6 Wings players against 6 Habs players for the starting lineup!

I heard somewhere that people will be able to follow the voting in realtime, so we can see how it changes from day to day. Should be (somewhat) interesting.

As for Habs players, hopefully we get a few of them into the game, would be great to see. They will have my vote.

I say Kovy, Price , Markov ;) would be great

We can organize the masses and stuff the polling boxes to send a bunch of our guys.

Something like, on even days we vote for x, y, z and on odd days we vote for a, b, c...

And how about, when we cannot vote for a Hab (Can't vote in 6 players from the same team with one vote..), we vote for Habs alumni?

Or we could vote for future Habs to give them an extra chance to see where they will end up and the people who will be cheering for them. You know, guys like Lecavalier, Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin, Gaborik, Kovalchuk, Bouwmeester, Mikko Koivu, etc. Who have I forgotten? :)

Nice ideas though, a co-ordinated attack getting a good representation of Habs in the game.

All depending on the ballot itself, I'll be voting Tanguay-Koivu-Kovalev-Markov-whoever-Price

Add-in : Komisarek

Thats what i was thinking as well, and its actually plausible.

googlymoogly 11-04-2008 11:45 AM

Rory Fitzpatrick all the way:handclap:

BadKiwi 11-04-2008 11:50 AM

We have to vote the ex Kelowna Captain in the all-star game.

Namso 11-04-2008 01:12 PM

when is the coach decided for these games? I know its based on best record, but what is the final date?

NewBlood 11-04-2008 01:48 PM

I think Therrien and Babcock will be the coaches because their teams reached the finals last season...

Kachino 11-04-2008 02:23 PM

Josh Gorges as the new Rory Fitzpatrick?

Says that Montreal has six players -- most in the NHL, tied with Detroit -- with Koivu, Kovalev, Tanguay, Markov, Komisarek, and Price on the ballot.

Edit: What the hell am I thinking? -.-

beowulf 11-04-2008 02:37 PM

I am happy to see 6 Habs on the ballot and I think we should have 2 starters.

2? That's the perfect lineup to have 6....:D

Seriously, I would not have put Komi in. Not a "All-Star" material...But Kovy better be a starter, this guy represents what an "All-Star" game should be....

Ozymandias 11-04-2008 03:31 PM

This just in from NHL.com... 6 Habs on ballot for this year's all-stars :

Tangs, Koivu, Kovy, Markov, Komi, Price

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=390436

oh nevermind... i didn't see the previous post.... my bad

Kriss E 11-04-2008 03:32 PM

Kovalev/Koivu/Tanguay/Markov/Price should be on the ballot.
Unfortunately for Komi, defensive dman are a rare commodity in ASGs.

Mother Pucker 11-04-2008 03:37 PM

6 Habs players on ballot...Namely Markov, Koivu, Tanguay, Kovalev, Price and Komisarek:handclap:
