Begin and Dandenault

I like these guys as much as anyone but with a combined cap hit of 2.782 million as per thefourthperiod.com, i think we could probably use that kind of money on a better player.

I think Begin would be much easier to trade than Dandenault. Begin is mor of a b;ue collar player with good lockeroom presence while Dandenault does create energy but he doesn't have the same impact as Begin. However, he does have a better scoring ability than Begin.

Possible trades:
To L.A
Dandenault
To MTL
6th round pick

To FLA
Begin, Thomas Beauregard (Prospect)

To FLA
Skrastins

I like Skrastins because he's a solid #4 Defencemen. He's more defensive minded and he's a UFA at the end of the year.

Beauregard is not property of the Habs, unless they gave him a contract I'm unaware of.

You realize teams don't take players just because we want to trade them, right?

Why would LA take on Dandenault's salary? If they need help anywhere, it's on defense and in nets, not a utility forward that can sometimes fill in on the blueline. Plus he's UFA at the year's end, and LA is in full rebuild, so why in the heck would they give a draft pick for him, as late as it may be?

I'm not a huge Skrastins fan, and would put him down as a 7th or 8th option in our hunt for a "#4" d-man, but he has more value than a 4th line UFA and an ECHLer.

Just like the Lats copes thread. :shakehead

Beauregard is WAY too talented to simply throw into a trade.

I really wish those 2 would find a home somewhere else in the nhl.

Bear with me here. I'm proposing a six way trade.

Steve Begin goes to LA,

Kings send Vladimir Dravecky to Atlanta,

Atlanta sends Ryan Holzapfel to Carolina,

Carolina sends Harrison Reed to the Rangers

Rangers send Corey Potter to Florida

Florida sends Matt Rust to Montreal.

It's a win-win-win-win-win-win kinda deal.

Hmm
Seems to me the Habs have trouble winning without Dandenault in the line up.

Odd he wears the number 25
And the Habs are looking for their 25th cup
Coincidence I think not.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that they would still be healthy scratch... no matter where they are traded.
