Anyone else not panicking?

Anyone else not panicking?

Habs relies too much on their talent and forgot what it takes to win in the NHL. Average teams need to play the game perfectly to win. But talented teams can get away with it for some time. They needed that slap in the face. A losing streak at this time of the season can only be good in the long run. They know what they have to do, they proved it against Ottawa the other night.

Every little detail is important and every mistake created by lack of concentration or effort will snowball.

I hated that game too, but the intelligence level of the posts on the forum getting lower than the RDS talkbacks.

lol :sarcasm:

it's not a slap in the face if no one on the team seems to care. They're already in the all-star game and they're looking for nice contracts next yr.

That's how it looked like last night anyway.. and last week.

Nice thread title man

But the facts are that our team plays like horse**** and that a major shakeup is needed if we want to dream somewhere between a cup and a 1st playoff round

Fido22 11-14-2008 12:14 PM

It's a long season.

Ups.

Downs.

Etc.

That is all.

cjbhab* 11-14-2008 12:22 PM

I'm not too worried about it.. I know this team is majorly talented and if they came out and played 60 minutes at 100% every game, they would get 65 wins.

I'd like to see effort. We know the talent is there, now show me effort.

We could make a run, if we acquire a decent d-man at the deadline, it could happen.

I almost might be willing to deal Pacioretty and a 1st in a package to try and get Jay Bo.

A loss is not worrying. Getting beat up 6-1 is not worrying. The way they played yesterday IS worrying though. I sincerly never saw a team play that bad and look so unmotivated in my whole life. This was pathetic. I've never seen an NHL team play like we did last night.

I kinda like it when we go on our annual slump. Theres 4 or 5 guys that you just know are going to give you a good laugh. lol

I agree. As I recall last year we had a little slump around this time. Then Huet got injured and Price took the reins and put them back along the way. One or two humiliating losses can only get the guys angry enough to remember that they need to play hard to win.

Habskrieg 11-14-2008 01:31 PM

Yea, I'm not panicking at al, I'm a bit disappointed by the general lack of willingness that's so blatant so early in the season... But I do agree with the fact that the games against the b's and t.m.l. are slaps in the face for the players. We might get a few more, but eventually I think they'll wake up and understand what privilege they have to be playing in the nhl, and what it s t really play hockey. Most of the posts on these boards were however very retarded. Sadly I can't seem to give Darwin awards to each of them...

Gee, a young team with high expectations struggles for a couple of games early in a NHL season? Not only am I not worried, I'm not even surprised. I expected a couple slumps at some point this year.

Is this even a slump?

What, we're 1-2-1 in our last 4...

I can hardly wait till we actually lose 3 in a row. ITS GONNA HAPPEN FOLKS!

Didn't happen once last year as far as I recall.

To me the problem with the team this year so far is psychological. It's MUCH easier being the underdog, deemed to finish out of the playoffs and actually finishing 1st in the East than it is being the team who is supposed to be the best in the East. It's easier to get to the top than to stay there. Especially with such a young, still unproven goaltender.

Damn you.

Megaforce 11-14-2008 02:10 PM

Twice they've gone around five days without a game.

I think that played a part in screwing them up somehow.

I'd still like to see a rookie or two on the team rather than BGL/Begin/Dandy/Tender/SmoLANGski, I think we need some of that young kid desperate-to-impress energy here.

smon 11-14-2008 02:56 PM

Carey Price is still fat :sarcasm:

I'm kidding. Obviously the team needs to play better, but the season's barely started.

Whitesnake 11-14-2008 02:59 PM

Again, it has nothing to do with how many losses in a row but how we lose and win them. Lose 3 games in a row 3-2 while outshooting the opponents 37-24 and nobody will say a thing about it....okay maybe I'm optimistic but still, it wouldn't be as dramatic....

HotPie 11-14-2008 03:02 PM

I'm not panicking, but I'm definitely starting to get concerned.

shots for and against aren't the greatest stats to look at. Alot of team get alot of shots per night, but don't generate alot of scoring chances.

See Toronto Maple Leafs....especially Jason Blake.
