We are still a good team thread

c'mon guys I know we have been bad lately, But we have the makeup to still contend this year forsure

Kovalev needs to be demoted to the third line , And maybe he will wake up.

We are still a really good team And I think every team goes threw patches like this, Better them go threw it now then deep in the postseason, And even threw this patch we were still in all of the games even though we know we werent playing our best.

The only game we played terrible but werent atleat a goal or 2 in reach was agaisnt boston

I think we need to be a little positive here

Year 101 11-18-2008 08:52 PM

no one is doubting we have the potential to be a good team. the fact is we have no work ethic, no strategy and play 20 minutes of hockey while our key players are not showing up.

WeThreeKings 11-18-2008 08:52 PM

Demoted? No, benched.

He should not be allowed to play next game. Well, he hasn't been playing. So he shouldn't be dressed for the next game.

_habsfan9 11-18-2008 08:53 PM

Haha mitch you must be a harcore live and die fan

I was just as mad as you guys, But **** its because we expect so much from them right now, A few seasons ago we would be all happ about the start.

You just need to know that this is a slump and we will crawl out of it

JGRB 11-18-2008 08:54 PM

We are a good team, on paper.

It's time for them to start showing up to the games, then maybe we'd win.

Tuggy 11-18-2008 08:54 PM

They have good players, but I wouldn't say they are a good team right now. If you know what I mean...

Metropolitsky 11-18-2008 08:55 PM

Dude

Habs play for 0.645

It's not the time to be positive

HabsoluteFate 11-18-2008 08:56 PM

"team" is their problem right now...good players but no effort

Judge Sauer* 11-18-2008 09:10 PM

I think they migth just have the worst inspirational posters in the lockerroom

Stradale 11-18-2008 09:12 PM

3 scoring lines.

5 goals scored in last 4 games. :shakehead

The Guy Lafleur curse is coming back.

Booba 11-18-2008 09:14 PM

We would be a good team with those lines

Tanguay-Lang-Kovalev
Higgins-Koivu-Latendresse
A.Kostitsyn-Plekanec-Kostitsyn
Laraque-Lapierre-Kostopolos

He should voice his opinion again. The fact is when he said that last year, it was true. Maybe that got the team fired up because they played much better after that.

No one says that the Habs lack of talents. They just lack of passion, efforts, decent coaching and leadership.

Year 101 11-18-2008 09:22 PM

You can't always get what you want.... but when try sometimes you might you might find... wait we dont try

Arctic_Hab_Fan 11-18-2008 09:23 PM

Once they start playing like a team, wake me up!

smon 11-18-2008 09:49 PM

Hey, I'd actually prefer it if Kovalev was the only problem - but he's not, it's more like the all the top players. The offense isn't doing much, and the defense is weak, and did we mention special teams? Price is about the only player who was completely blameless tonight.

NAHHH... Some members here rather say Kovalev brought the whole line down, or better, Kovy brought the whole team down. He was the reason why Obyrne played like **** tonight, after bringing Plekanec and A. Kost. down, he's now attacking Koivu and Tanguay. Hes the reason why the D gave almost 50 shots to the Canes.

HabsoluteFate 11-18-2008 10:16 PM

this "team" is starting to remind me of the Ottawa Senators...

and thats not a good thing

and yes i do realise they have a long way to go to drop that much

No...

Glad you aren't the coach!

Kovy (and all the players) just needs to be reminded what they were doing right last year... Work night-in night-out.

And Kovy needs to be reminded he has TEAMMATES, aswell..

He's trying to pull this whole team on his shoulders, and failing badly at it!

Rayne* 11-18-2008 10:34 PM

Can you guys ***** a bit more? I don't think you've alienated this fanbase enough yet, kthxbai.

I think it's time for him to step up to the plate and put this team down again - they need some of his negativity!

With the amount of goals they have scored the last few games, it looks like we have 4 4th lines :sarcasm:

"The team looks like they have 6 Patrice Brisebois' on defence." - Guy Lafleur

Now that would really fire up our D. :sarcasm:

Yzerlady 11-19-2008 12:47 AM

I'm obviously not a Habs fan, and I hate to intrude, but I have to say I completely agree with the premise of this thread.

Your team is performing below its standards, but that doesn't mean X player should be benched or that the coach should be fired. For a team that's been at or near the top of the division, the fans sure are fickle. Very few teams do the Red Wings-esque domination of their division (or conference), so you'll have to get used to the fact there will be a month (maybe two) that the team plays some below average hockey or cannot beat the seemingly beatable teams. Every single team goes through a slump at some point, and the good ones always persevere. But it's like the fans are not even giving them a chance to do that; many are willing to give up before they work themselves out of this. And that's a shame, because it's the 100th season and it's supposed to be an exciting time in Montreal, not this exaggerated whine fest.

Good to know that there are some of you that are more rational and patient. To the rest, take a deep breath.
