Would you do it? (All Avery talk here)

Rozsival for Avery?

I'm starting to think Dallas might

NYR Sting 12-02-2008 06:05 PM

Don't be silly.

Inferno 12-02-2008 06:07 PM

no, averys value is at an all time low.

Id offer them:
Prucha Rissmiller and Fritsche for Avery and Lundqvist.

Take it or leave it.

pffft. I dont think there's any hurry to dump Rissmiller

MrEctions 12-02-2008 06:10 PM

I think Dallas would do it.
And I would think that Avery would waive the NMC in a second to come back.

Inferno 12-02-2008 06:22 PM

*sniff* god how i miss him :(

JamesG1221 12-02-2008 06:25 PM

I wouldn't wanna take on the contract Dallas gave him. He's not the winger this team needs to improve.

ps- not to go OT but check out Avery's latest blunder on TSN...he's suspended indefinitely

Richter35 12-02-2008 06:25 PM

i'm probably dreaming here

rissmiller, prucha, kalinin, fritsche 3rd- (5.6 mill)

for

avery, robidas, lundqvist - (5.3 mill)

joel is on ltir so even tho we are over cap with that it would work. dallas probably waives rissmiller as soon as they get him, I know we are getting the better package but we are also taking the avery headache off of their hands too

Avery is a dink........sometimes a humorous dink but a dink..........its agood thing he is gone obviously

Fletch 12-02-2008 06:40 PM

he's gone...

and I think that players on this team aren't upset that he's gone. He's a good hockey player when he wants to be and a distraction when, for whatever reason, he doesn't want to play hockey. He's not coming back to NY in a Rangers uniform.

Bleed Ranger Blue 12-02-2008 06:54 PM

Never in a million years.

For all the grief Roszival gets, its not easy to replace a defenseman that logs 20+ minutes everynight. Ill be the first to admit hes not playing well, but I dont think people realize how difficult it would be to replace him midseason.

Avery is a 16 million dollar 3rd liner thats never scored 20 goals in a season. I fair to see how he'd help this team other than in the entertainment department. Then again, it sure does seem that some of you would take excitement over winning.

Avery is suspended, as per Sam

I'd love to have him back. For whatever reason, it worked for him here. I don't know if it was because he had enough off ice stuff to keep him entertained, but whatever it was, it worked. Granted our record without him is probably better than it was with him, but I really liked him. If we could unload one of our undesireable contracts, I would consider it.

silverfish 12-02-2008 07:06 PM

If we're ever going to trade for Avery (which we will never) it better be now because I'm sure we could get Dallas to pick up part of his salary.

You can tell from the way the Stars players reacted that they don't want him on their team. So, pick up part of his contract, we'll send you Rissmiller, and Fritsche.

FATCHAMALA11 12-02-2008 07:09 PM

4 years, or 3.5 is way too long

NYRSchrute217 12-02-2008 07:19 PM

Yes, but only if they throw in some muffins

FLYLine24* 12-02-2008 07:20 PM

Hes pretty much 100% going to be bought out in the summer. Sign him for cheap then IF we were to get him again.

His team hates him, his teammates hate him, even the owner doesn't like him (going by comments). No way he is still a Star come next Oct.

Teams can't "pick up part" of contracts.

Why wouldn't we just have signed him in the offseason if we wanted him? It was too much and too long then, and it certainly still is now.

FutureGM97 12-02-2008 07:39 PM

i don't think many of the players liked him...there is no way they are bringing him back

Bingo! The only way I'd take Avery back is if he's bought out, then signs here for cheap. He'll have gotten his money, then he can come back "home" and play without that being an issue any longer.

Then as long as by that time we hire Shanny as an assistant to keep him in line, there will be no worries.;)

NYC427 12-02-2008 07:43 PM

retarded thread. no offense

LiquidClown 12-02-2008 07:44 PM

Really why would anyone want this guy on your team? He's locker-room cancer and is now getting suspended for stuff he does off ice? Are you serious?

I'm no GM but putting a NT clause on a guy that has been a proven problem in more than one dressing room was the most moronic move I've ever seen.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.
