Not that bad,I would try to take out the first round deal and make it an optional only if Bouwmeester re-signs with us

PernellKarl76 12-08-2008 01:58 PM

Where do you guys find the time to come up with these ridiculous proposals?

We would not even win short term on that trade, even with Kovy having an off year he is still outproducing Horton. Then you lose Higgins Latendresse Fischer and 2 high picks for 4 months of Bouwmeester? :shakehead

I'm more thankful with each of these threads that Gainey is GM

son of a ..... Does anyone think that this kind of trade could EVER happen, that Florida would trade both Bouwmeester and Horton at the same time? comon people, get a grip

They would do it in a heartbeat if they could get that type of return.

You know what Carey Price, if I had not put Guillaumes name on this , you would have accepted in a heartbeat. What are we losing and what are we gaining? did u take a look at that. First off all, to get talent you have to give up talent. Thats where Higgins comes in to play. Secondly, salary comes in to play. Of the big salaries, I would get rid of Kovalev's. Thirdly, whos to say that we keep Bouwmeester for only 4 months. David Fischer is a good defence prospect id be willing to part with. With Weber, Mcdonough, Subban, Carle and others, he is dispensable in my opinion. Latendresse is also dispensable, contrary to what you believe, or to your tastes. He is a healthy scratch because he deserves it. D'agostini has passed him, sergei is better than him, and Pacioretty is everything GUillame wants to be but is not. The draft is a gamble, and we are going for a cup THIS year. You dont get talent for nothing. Maybe, as another poster wrote, it might be to offer the draft picks as conditional draft picks.

Booooooooooooooo

That's right, we boo proposals now too.

mariolemieux66 12-08-2008 02:47 PM

Montreal losses around 60 goals to replace them by 30.
We are short.

I would'nt mind: Plekanec, Latendresse and maybe a pick for Horton and Boynton

LyricalLyricist 12-08-2008 03:10 PM

I wouldn't do it and I doubt gainey would either. We bring pieces in, but we lose two decent wingers, both of which may or not have more potential their stats indicate right now. Yes, we get two good, if not great players, but who says jay bo will resign and it may be what florida wants but to trade several pieces of our team will surely disrupt chemistry. Why would they want kovalev anyway?

Exactly!

No ****ing way we do that trade.

One Man Rock Band 12-08-2008 03:23 PM

Higgins + 2nd = Horton. Fair enough..

Kovalev + Latendresse + 1st + Fischer + O'Byrne for Bouwmeester?

Yikes.

.. It MIGHT make us better short term.. but not much. And long term? I don't even want to think about it.
