2139213898 - 223829 Rangers loss. Eric Staal with 23989283 goals.

At this point, God only knows what the hell is going to happen. Actually he/she might not even know. Nevertheless, these games are toss ups now and I just sit there and hope for the best.

FromDubiToZherdev* 12-12-2008 11:09 PM

Knowing Renney, he will **** up the lines once more.

In The Flesh 12-12-2008 11:10 PM

CAR bottom 4 D men I've never even heard of. huh.

Anyways, hope Vallys in, along with Prucha, like NYRfan said.

I thought CAR was a good team, but then they fired their coach and I didn't know what to think, so we shall see I suppose.

Was Dawes and Korpedo even playing tonight??? I don't think I saw either at all.

I Eat Crow 12-12-2008 11:10 PM

Argh, Lord please, not another game

NYR Viper 12-12-2008 11:12 PM

......they were good for about 10 minutes tonight.....lets see if they can at least match that tomorrow

They had a 5-1 lead on Philly the other day and ended up losing it 6-5 in OT. Gotta watch out for Staal tho.

Here's to Marc destroying his bro tommorow! :yo:

Shake and Bake 12-12-2008 11:15 PM

This is shaping up to be a HUGE game...We gotta give Sundin a reason to join us and Henrik needs to reagin his confidence if he gets the nod

Burlington Bomb 26 12-12-2008 11:16 PM

Maybe Redden will be traded for Avery overnight, and during the game we get an announcement that Mats Sundin has signed a 1 year deal with the Rangers.:innocent:

TheZherdev 12-12-2008 11:21 PM

Does anyone else believe that if the rangers lose this game, renney might be shown the door? How can Sather be this patient? A win would only prolong Renney's stay. This is the least I've ever wanted to watch a rangers game. but i am going to watch it, because this is my team and im not a fair weathered. But I akready know im just going to turn off the tv angry when all is said and done.

A la Clemens' most recent stint with the Yankees? Now that'd be something

FromTheSide 12-12-2008 11:30 PM

Naslund has 11 goals not 10 lol.

BklyNYR4Life 12-12-2008 11:42 PM

I'll be there. I expect it to be entertaining, but I'm not expecting it to be good.

Cynical TyranT 12-13-2008 12:03 AM

like that will happen. Renney probably addressed the team after the devils game and it probably went something like this
Renney: "We played really well today guys, but yet again Petr Prucha let us down and was a liability."

Mike Pelino walks over to Renney: "but Prucha didn't even pl..."

Renney: "I dont want to hear it! Im sick and tired of watching this kid play with passion and with heart. He needs to be accountable. Why can't he turn the puck over like Gomez, why can't he score like Drury and Dawes? I gave him 3 games to show us what hes got and what did have to show for it?

Pelino: "He had that huge goal in the Pens game and in that 3 game span we only scored a total of 4 goals, so in actually he scored 25% of our goals."

Renney looks confused: Whats your point?

Pearn intervenes: "Can we also blame him for the power play?"

Renney: "Sure, he played a total of 19 seconds this season on there and still hasn't put up a point."

Pearn: "Sweet!"

FLYLine24* 12-13-2008 01:41 AM

Just sold my tickets.

I have better things to do on a saturday night then watch this team embarrass themselves.

Same thing every December. Its a disgrace.

Sheriff 12-13-2008 04:40 AM

Give Henrik a rest and bring in Valiquette.
And don't give up another ********* shorthanded goal again.

Some tidbits;
NHL Preview

Lundqvist Post-Game:

I wouldn’t have been surprised if Henrik Lundqvist ripped into his teammates after tonight’s 8-5 undressing. Or maybe it’s that I wouldn’t have blamed him.

But the goaltender, while clearly exasperated and even embarrassed by matching his career high for goals allowed, merely implicated himself in the loss.

“I need to be better,” Lundqvist said.

Well, sure. If the Rangers keep playing like that, Lundqvist would need to be superhuman.

The only telling moment came when I asked Lundqvist if he definitely wanted to play tomorrow. I can’t remember an occasion when the goalie hasn’t firmly stated his desire to come back and play the next game. But maybe because he doesn’t sense much of an improvement, Lundqvist wavered.

“I’m not making that decision,” Lundqvist said. “Like I said, if Tom tells me to play, I’ll be ready to play. He’s the coach. Whatever he decides. Sometimes you don’t have to think about every decision.”

Meanwhile, if you’re waiting to hear about a shake-up to the roster for tomorrow night, I’ve got nothing to report. Tom Renney bristled at a question tonight about his defense, saying the problem was with all 20 players, not just the six defensemen.

Maybe so. But let’s just say the Rangers need a quick fix, and unless Mats Sundin has been boning up his play on the backline, the free agent Swede isn’t the one to bring it.

WhipNash27 12-13-2008 06:24 AM

FI-RE REN-NEY!! I think tonight will be the birth of this chant.

Renney was asked whether Prucha’s latest three-game stint was enough of a sample for him.

“Yup,” Renney said. “If it wasn’t, he would still be in. He gave me everything he could. It depends also on what you need. Nigel is in primarily because of his ability to score and help create offense. Also, he’s a playmaker. He helps, I think, supplement what we might need offensive by his ability to make plays. It’s where we are and what we need to generate. It’s capitalizing on guys that have been out of the lineup that want badly to get back in and do the right thing as they do that.”
Renney HATES Petr Prucha. I don't know what he did, but it's very clear at this point.

I'm going to wear my Prucha jersey to the Garden tonight. Renney's gotten ridiculous now, it's time for him to go.

Loffen 12-13-2008 06:28 AM

We always **** it up every December, no? We'll bounce back eventually.
