Filip Kuba

I wonder, does anyone think he may be able to fetch a lowish 1st rounder from a playoff team at deadline?

I have a feeling this guy may be wanted at the deadline because of his offensive upside and defenders like him are probably the most wanted thing in the league.

Anyways if you think that it may be a bit far fetched i turn to Hall Gill and see what he got, and Kuba is a 10 times better at both ends of the ice :p

he is a UFA at seasons end

Aucoin or Sarich, + a prospect or pick

If a washed up guy like Foote or Blake can draw a mid 1st, I think Kuba can do a bit better

Well he's currently on pace for 58 points, and he plays 24+ minutes a game in all situations (PP and PK). He isn't very flashy, but he's been about as reliable a defenseman as you could be. He just doesn't make mistakes. Compared to Redden and Meszaros last year, he's been outstanding.

I think the asking price would start at a first round pick.

I doubt Ottawa will be far enough out to make the trade, but if they did he'd be a first and a prospect for sure.

B's fan here. I'd trade Mark Stuart, Petteri Nokelainen and a 1st for him (had to add Nokelainen, that's probably going to be a low 1st rounder)

yes bc look how bad Blake is doing this year, and um i do believe he wasn't traded last year?

OmniSens 12-14-2008 10:34 PM

stays in Ottawa, thanks :)

I think a 1st is fair for him. Blake & Foote went for firsts. Brad Stuart last year only drew a 2nd and 4th.

It was him or Foote going to COL. But Blake activated his NTC.

And I dont know how he is doing so well again. Is he perhaps trying again?

Agreed, outside the northeast and to a team more on the fringe he fetches a first and maybe a prospect like Ted Ruth or someone of that ilk.

If the B's want to acquire him, I think Stuart and a first is closer to the price - from a division rival, they'll probably want an NHL ready defenseman in return.

If the Bruins were asking, the Sens would probably want a young puck mover in return. A Hunwick or Lashoff would probably be asked for, but I don't know how willing Boston would be to part with them within the division.

Probably unwilling, but if the price is right I could see a Lashoff for Kuba deal straight up or even with us tossing in a pick. Stranger things have happened.

I would do this trade, quiet easily
