All that's been reported is that he has a lower body injury and will be examined by the doctors later today.

Minus the contract he still brings everything we need in a forward.

Begin when healthy and Lapierre are not that far off IMO

TSN ice chips states that Andrei will probably miss both weekend games.

Wishing injury to our opponents is not acceptable.

m00ks 12-19-2008 04:25 PM

Pretty dirty play. Looked blatant to me.

madbox 12-19-2008 05:28 PM

Hope it's nothing too bad for A-Kost and this Christmas break does him good having him ready for next weekend.
Effing Hartnell, typical POS move. Laraque better give him the business next game. //dream on//

Seriously...I mean, I understand that you just can't go out and tackle him, but at least get in his face and scare him a little bit, just play tough against him, or you go after Timonen and crunch him into the boards.

So far BGL hasn't really played his shotgun role well enough.

Yeah or Lapierre/Begin should run someone on the flyers, Lapierre is quite capable.

Haha, yeah right. Laraque hasn't done anything all season, his head and heart is in Edmonton.

peperebougon* 12-21-2008 03:02 AM

I hate Ratnell. He is a dirty and ugly player. What's not to hate? Andrei will drive him face into the boards next game (wishful thinking maybe)... And then BGL will kick his ass if he wants to retaliate.

Andrei hits like a train...

Laraque is playing healthy for the first few games since the season began. What do you want him to do? Fight 82 times a season? Never lose a fight? Jump every player that hits a hab? Since his full recovery (he came back too fast 2 times) and since having his game shape back he is playing pretty good hockey as a 4th liner. He kicked a couple ***** and calmed down the opposition's agression.

BGL is contributing to this team a lot. He is the perfect enforcer. He isn't a liability when the coach let him play hockey. I don't know what your problem is...You must not have watched the last 4-5 games. At least I hope so...:help:

Corgidequebec 12-21-2008 08:32 AM

Evidently the injury was to his Russiansulk. Once repaired and at 100% AK46 will return to passing the puck to wide open Tomas Plekanec like he did last season.

I agree. BGL's doing a great job lately. And you can't just judge his impact by what he does on the ice, but also need to factor in what doesn't happen when he plays. Watch the difference in how our goalies and d get run when he's not playing, it's night and day that other teams treat us with much more respect when he's in the lineup.

The one legit knock on Laraque (aside from his skating) is that he's not nasty. The upside of that is he almost never takes stupid penalties, which is an underrated asset in an enforcer IMO. Plus he is, bar none, the scariest fighter in the NHL. Nobody wants to make this guy really angry. Nobody.

Schooner Guy 12-21-2008 12:35 PM

Guys,...the purpose of this thread is to provide updates on AK46's injury.....not to discuss BGL's performance as an enforcer.
