bittersweet article about trades

http://www.startribune.com/stories/1330/4646010.html

Discusses other possible trades and includes some player quotes.

Kind of sad, in a way. It's good that the team is moving on, but you know.. young team, guys who've been around for a while.. great post-season run last year.. it all kind of adds up.

Trading a guy like Dowd is definitely a sign the Wild are ready to turn the page. You're right, it's great to know the Wild are going to give youth a chance, as all expansion teams should, but these guys were consumate professionals, and their contributions in getting this team off the ground will be missed.

I for one am actually glad to see this day come. It was long overdue IMO. On the subject of the recently traded players: I'm actually sorry that some of them are gone, but it had to happen. Everyone knew these guys brought character and leadership to the team. Not much else other then that though.

Veilleux can certainly provide that Wild kind of spirit - he's got the wheels, the work ethic, and the lack of scoring ability, every thing we look for in our forwards :)

I agree though - it's time.
