2. The greater number of games won.
3. The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs. If two clubs are tied, and have not played an equal number of home games against each other, points earned in the first game played in the city that had the extra game shall not be included. If more than two clubs are tied, the higher percentage of available points earned in games among those clubs, and not including any "odd" games, shall be used to determine the standing.

For now.
It will 3 points out of a tie for eight, or four when the games finish tonight.
Colorado plays Columbus tonight, if Colorado wins then the Stars are 4 points back, or 5 of the lead then if Columbus wins 3 points back of a tie and 4 of the lead. *I never included a "ot win" in the situation.
Also #7th place Phoenix plays the Islanders so if they win as they should do the Stars will be 6 points back of tie and 7 from the lead over them.

I Agree..pts are important...

But im not gonna be scoreboard watching for other results just yet...

ALL I want is Dallas to continue where they left off..winning..

If we can produce a similar result in Jan like we did in Dec, we will be in 7th or 8th by the all star break...

But for that to happen..just have to keep playing to strenghts

MxK1NGS 01-02-2009 08:08 PM

No worries for you guys tonight...

I wish I could believe you, but we've already used up our "blow em out of the water" game, back in Toronto. We only get one of those per year, so it's time to go back to the regular "one-goal nail biters".

Chad_ 01-02-2009 08:45 PM

I prefer the closer games, and it seems like no matter how good one of Dallas or Edmonton is, the games are always close with outcomes as unpredictable as can be. That is, unless Alistar goes to the games in Edmonton it's a Dallas victory, or so I am to understand.

I could dig Mike Modano ripping their hearts out for the millionth time, hopefully this time in regulation though

mtxed 01-03-2009 12:38 AM

catters078 01-03-2009 06:18 AM

mtxed 01-03-2009 09:02 AM

Hemsky is out indefinitely. Concussion.

Caseman 01-03-2009 09:35 AM

If they don't start Stephan now, they never will.

Not that we're aware of. He hasn't missed enough games, nor is his injury obviously severe enough to skip the required games missed to be put on LTIR.

Oh, absolutely. He has stated numerous times he loves playing in Edmonton, and the city, Oiler fans, the ice or whatever always seems to bring out the best in him.

Good

Sony Eriksson* 01-03-2009 06:24 PM

Did Lundqvist injury his shoulder again?

piqued 01-03-2009 07:06 PM

Playing in Edmonton used to scare me, with their fast ice and faster players. They'd crash the net with reckless abandon while their crowd roared.

Which is kinda strange I guess since it almost always worked out in the end for the Stars. But now they just feel like another team.

The past couple of contests have been played at the Stars' pace. Methodical and under control. Hopefully that trend continues.

I don't think so, I could be wrong but I believe that he wasn't feeling 100% so they were trying to take it slowly with him

theheadmata 01-03-2009 08:57 PM

From everything I've read about Lundqvist is that the coaching staff can't trust him to take it easy once he is allowed back on the ice, so they're waiting until he is absolutely %100. The injury is (supposedly) better, but it's still nagging him a bit (general soreness).
