Mason Injured?

http://blog.dispatch.com/cbj/

God hates the Blue Jackets

Brassard Calder 01-09-2009 12:44 PM

OMFG....what the hell. At least it doesn't appear serious at all and he's supposedly still playing tonight and tomorrow.

BluejacketNut 01-09-2009 12:44 PM

Penitentiary curse....believe it

Timeless Winter 01-09-2009 12:44 PM

I think we should let Lacosta play either tonight or tomorrow, preferably tonight since tomorrow's game is more important, and basically forfeit tonight with Lacosta in net.

Till he gets runned

i just finished reading the same story. this is probably more of a fatigue issue than serious injury. the boy has been between the pipes an awful lot lately. we need a solid number 2 goalie before mase becomes too worn down.

Monk 01-09-2009 12:46 PM

I thought this was a joke. I said to myself, "Surely, surely TW is being a HUGE ********"

But no. :(

Can you imagine the look on Lacosta's face the first time Ovechkin comes zipping down the wings

How Scott Howson can idly sit and watch his team's chances go down the toilet without acting is beyond comprehension.

Matthew 01-09-2009 12:47 PM

Mason needs an enforcer.

He's probably excited about his bonus he may get for not losing money

Trigger shy? We ripped him last year for not making good moves, then he finally does and gets fleeced by the Rangers, so he's probably afraid of doing something stupid. Which is fine, cuz if he's going to make another trade like that again, I'd rather him sit on his hands.

If I were the Jackets, I would have run Portzy down, told him that if he published this information about Mason and he gets hurt, they would hold him personally liable for any injury. The Caps will definitely send Brashear plowing into the net now. This is now officially insane, there has to be something wrong with our training techniques or our guys are just out of shape and fragile. Personally, if there is the slightest thing wrong with Mason, we should error on the side of caution.

Explain to me how playing in front of an empty arena (where we're headed) means Howson earns a bonus for not losing money. You're not a government economist are you?

spm1024 01-09-2009 12:54 PM

Was it in Detroit or StLouis that he was REALLY slow to get up after a couple saves right after he was run into. I would bet that is when the injury occurred. I wish I could remember the specifics.

I'll still save judgement on the Ranger trade till after this summer and Nik Zherdev bolts back to Russia. It won't look so bad then, when we have Tyutin, free of Backman's salary and the Rangers are left with Fritsche who they're trying to get rid of.

Dammit, do something. Right now, we're rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic

BluejacketNut 01-09-2009 12:56 PM

obviously Kev, I should have put :sarcasm: in it, my point was not signing high end players

Portzline needs to stop blogging for a few days. He oversold the trade stuff and I hope he's doing the same thing here. Mason could or could not be injured even though Hitchcock says he plans to have him start the next two games in a row. All in the same article. Take a vacation Aaron.

His Columbus Internet-fame is going to his head.
