Tiebreakers - From NHL.com
1. The fewer number of games played (i.e., superior points percentage).
2. The greater number of games won.
3. The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs. If two clubs are tied, and have not played an equal number of home games against each other, points earned in the first game played in the city that had the extra game shall not be included. If more than two clubs are tied, the higher percentage of available points earned in games among those clubs, and not including any "odd" games, shall be used to determine the standing.
4. The greater differential between goals for and against for the entire regular season.

They're catching Buffalo on the second night of a back to back with a decent amount of travel from Chicago. Lalime played tonight though and it'll be Miller tomorrow.

catters078 01-15-2009 01:51 AM

It would have been ideal if Miller had played tonight, we coud have got Lalime tomorrow...

Ahh well, hopefully the Buffalo forwards are tired and we can win a low scoring game..

I wont be able to find out the scores ill after the game..

but i predict, Dallas 2 Buffalo 1

DaStars99 01-15-2009 08:57 AM

I'm not quite so optimistic, even though Buffalo played last night and lost, everytime I get my hopes up about this team taking advantage of an opportunity they not only disappoint but crumble. I think it will be close because Buffalo will be tired but I say Buffalo 3 Dallas 2

Alistar 01-15-2009 10:08 AM

well Dallas has been playing really well at home lately so I'm optimistic for this one.. I don't think the final score will be 2-1, but the boys will find someway to pull it out in the end (in OT / a shootout if need be).

GO STARS GO!

BigG44 01-15-2009 11:07 AM

Remember when ....

This was the best Dallas Stars victory at the Joe. Dallas was down 3-0 midway through the third yet they score three to tie it and send the game to OT. Dallas wins it in the shootout.

There was a bad storm that night. I called my brother after they scored 1 and said they were going to pull it out. Then my satellite went out, and my brother described the 2nd goal to me. Then his satellite went out, and I described the 3rd goal to him. I almost dropped satellite TV after that.

Just found this picture while I was looking around.

I do remember that, that storm was terrible. I was at wal-mart and got stuck didn't want to drive home so I listened via WBAP.

Do they do it in any other way now a days?

I beg to differ.

Do you not remember the 3-0 deficit like a minute into the 2nd period back in 05-06? Dallas ended up tying it 3-3 in that same 2nd period, then went on in the 3rd and scored 3 more to win the game 6-3.

Was pure awesomeness.

Do believe Hedberg got the W that night for us (Turco was pulled).

six unanswered is pretty good too

SpachoMan 01-15-2009 01:52 PM

Stars are ironically my favorite Western team. Looking forward to a good game here. On the injury front the Sabres should be without Andrej Sekera, one of our workhorse defensemen.

Wanna borrow Sydor?

Kritter471 01-15-2009 02:02 PM

Wanna keep Sydor?

Captain Awesome 01-15-2009 02:15 PM

We're feeling really generous, we really do want you to have him. You know, for that whole cup thing that happened in 99.

theheadmata 01-15-2009 02:26 PM

I'll throw in Janik and Hutchinson if it means getting rid of Sydor. Don't get me wrong, I've liked Hutchinson, but I greatly dislike Sydor.

SpachoMan 01-15-2009 03:21 PM

Haha, we've had Janik before So I'll pass on that turd.

as for Sydor, we have our own pylon and his name is Teppo Numminen.

Chad_ 01-15-2009 04:03 PM

And we've had that pylon before too. Since Numminen has heart (no pun or slight intended) and is no longer an effective d-man, I'm a bit surprised the Stars haven't tried to trade for him. Numminen and Sydor on the same blue line would be magic.

Cris Angel magic?

Chad_ 01-15-2009 05:25 PM

More along the lines of Houdini, because when they would be on the ice at the same time it's like they just disappeared and the team would be punched in the gut.

Stars99Lobo37 01-15-2009 06:57 PM

Ok we're in for a good night.

My night class, that was suppose to last 3 hours, just ended in literally 10 minutes making it possible for me to watch the game.

I like this.

Alistar 01-15-2009 07:12 PM

we haven't been getting the best starts lately, and for this team confidence is key :(

Dallas really needs to come out flying tonight - take it to the sabres and put them out of the game early. They played last night so we should have the advantage as the game goes on.
