Steve Quailer LIVE on TV tonight

Anybody who catches Sportsnet East and Pacific, at 8PM, Boston College are playing Northeastern with our prospect Steve Quailer (#10). Northeastern is the best team of their divison while Boston College is in the middle of the pack. Still Boston College is filled with NHL prospects including 1 Boston Bruin (if you feel like hating a team again tonight...;)) with d-man Tommy Cross.

Also note that tonight at 5:00 PM on Sportsnet Pacific and at 7:30PM on Sportsnet Ontario, you'll have the Boston University vs Harvard game. Boston University have a lot of NHL draftees (and also the other Chris Higgins...) on that team but there's also one guy who isn't drafted and was talked a lot about drawing some interest from NHL teams, d-man Matt Gilroy. He wears #97. While they're facing Harvard who does have some Quebec flavor in it with the Biega Bros and 2 or 3 other guys from Quebec. Honestly, I don't see a good matchup in that game, Boston University seems much much stronger while the Northeastern game should be tighter. But it would finally be nice to see what this Gilroy is all about. So a game to be taped and 1 to watch live....

MODS: Not that it's that important, but any chance you could put the "Prospect Info" thing prior to the title?

will be watching :handclap:

He is having a decent rookie year

25 games 6 goals 9 assists +2 tied 6th in team scoring
Total NE stats

Quailer only has one power play goal and three assists so his points mostly come from even strength. Not sure if he sees much PP time.

here the take from a bruins and Northeastern fan on Quailer

The most impressive moment I've seen from him this year (which went relatively un-noticed by a lot of the casual hockey fans) was I think the last home game vs Providence. A PU player was skating into our defensive zone with the puck, and Quailer was roughly at the red line, he basically pressed the turbo button and caught right up to the guy. And in one smooth motion, lifted his stick, bumped him off the puck with his hip, stole the puck away, and lead a rush back down the other way.

I saw him twice this year and he did get some PP time on what I assume was the 2nd unit.

All I wanna know is what areas of the ice he ventures to. If he skates along the boards and sets up behind the net, I'll be so disappointed.

This is the Beanpot Tournament and it's a big deal around here. Boston College won it last year with wins over BU and Harvard on its way to the National Championship.

Look for BC to start hitting their stride tonight, and coast all the way back to the championship again. :D

First remark......you need some bulking up to do Mr. Quailer.....He looks so tall but a little thin overall......mind you...the game haven't started yet....;)

googlymoogly 02-02-2009 07:20 PM

Quailer on the first line. Commentator talking about him saying good things.

Indeed he looks tall on the ice but he's as big as a broom.

Dwight 02-02-2009 07:31 PM

No one told me Jimmy Hayes was on Boston College :(

Which is exactly what 6'3'' 185 lbs look like. Would be great to see him at 205, 210....

googlymoogly 02-02-2009 07:35 PM

If he doesn't get 3 goals and 15 hits he's a bust:sarcasm:

Whitesnake 02-02-2009 07:36 PM

Great work on the PK by Quailer, great speed, pretty impressive for a big....euh I mean a tall man....Nice backcheck there.

Here's a weak goal for you.....1-1.

googlymoogly 02-02-2009 07:36 PM

Anybody have a tv feed?

Scotianhab 02-02-2009 07:38 PM

1-1 BU ties it up on a delayed penalty.
