What happened in team meeting?

Here are the facts:

1. Dany Dube said it was a heated meeting, with a lot of volume (screaming, arguing etc) as he was very close to door.

2. Yvon Pedneaults column in the metro papers had a sample of what might have been said.

3. Dave Stubbs reports that D'agostini and pacioretty were the last one left in the skates and uniform, and they looked really shocked?

The million dollar question is: what happened? It will eventually leak out, and it prob has, now we all need to post what we know because we have the right to know as our money, and our support is the blood line of this team.

Well at least they showed some passion in there, hopefully that translates into their on ice play.

Maybe they were stuck eating the cracker

My guess is that Koivu ragged the whole team out, including himself, for playing with a lack of focus, desire, intensity and Kovalev agreed with Koivu saying that he was right on and that he could only hope the team would start playing to his standards.

But seriously, I think a few people might have been called out by name for their poor play, probably more than a few, which may have resulted in some heated thrust and parry.

waffledave 02-11-2009 09:03 AM

Koivu said he was just trying to get the message accross that he still believes in the team and they need to believe in themselves.

I'm betting that someone called out Kovalev right after though.

Super_Striker 02-11-2009 09:07 AM

A heated game of monopoly ending with Kovalev throwing the board at Koivu because he couldn't pay rent on one of his properties???

BigBen07 02-11-2009 09:10 AM

Probably spent the half hour picking teams and drawing up a round robin schedule for their bowling trip yesterday. My guess would be the Patches and D'ago got picked last and werent happy about it. Nobody likes being the last guys taken :sarcasm:

What really happened is ...
Plekanec complained they should have gone shopping instead of bowling. Said her hand is still sore from trying lifting the ball from the day before.

I believe it was O'Byrne who took his purse and went shopping instead.

Kovalev had the Ukrain.

Ukrain is weak.

Mustafa* 02-11-2009 09:20 AM

Actualy if the meeting was heated, it's a good thing that they went bowling after that.

Was probably the reason they went. A good old Fashion BOWL-OFF. :sarcasm:

McTusk 02-11-2009 09:24 AM

They talked about how HFBoards is the worstest website in the world!

GoodKiwi 02-11-2009 09:26 AM

They were trying to decide which bowling place to go to. It was not an easy decision it seems. :sarcasm:

Unless you are George Gillett, your only right is to stop buying the product if you don't like it.

Habs 4 Life 02-11-2009 09:28 AM

Players all told Kovalev that he played better when he had the C on,and they all attacked him

D'agostini and Pacioretty are being left aside for Dandenault and Brisebois tonight and that's why they were still dressed in the room in shock!:sarcasm:

Mustafa* 02-11-2009 09:32 AM

Dave Morissette just confirmed on CKAC that it was Saku who called the meeting. Captain ho captain!

Canadian_Brewtality 02-11-2009 09:32 AM

another montreal specific conversation.

This meetings happen all the time. I dont know how many they have probably had this year, and have had in the past 2 years. But my guess is LOTS.

Dosent really matter what was said because they talk alot during the year, but how they react.
My guess- nothing much will change.

shao01 02-11-2009 09:49 AM

Here's what I think happend.

Let's see...
Plekanec complained they should have gone shopping instead of bowling. O'Byrne complained about Plekanec not letting him use her purse.

Sergei Kostitisyn complained to Carbo about not letting him fight Grasoftsky. To which Carbo objected and pointed out that Sergei's giveaway last game that led to a Flame's goal.

Andrei tried to say something but Lapierre complained about his English being too terrible for anyone to understand. kovalev mishears and thinks that Lapierre says something bad about Russia so he tries to slash him with his stick.

Markov, with his superb command of English(which he rarely shows) looks them on and laughs to himself in a corner.

Koivu tried to give his usual speech about believing in the team but Brisebois and Bouillon complained that he doesn't speak French so they wouldn't understand.

Latendresse complained about the lack of quality poutine joints in Edmonton.

Gorges and Prices giggled and shareddirty jokes among themselves while Hamrlik looks on the whole thing all confused.

Halak? Well he's been traded along with Higgins and a 2nd rounder to Boston for Ryder :sarcasm:

D'Agostini and Pacioretty? They were shocked to hear that the team had decided to go bowling without them.
