Jay McKee

Now that Schneider's deal has gone down, I was thinking we might be able to gauge the market for defensemen a little better.

So what do you guys think the value is for Jay McKee. He is a stay-at-home defender that blocks tons of shots. But he is due $4mil next season. Thoughts?

He is free as long as somebody pays his 4m salary next year. He is a good stay at home defensive defenseman. Plays hard, pretty tough, blocks lots of shots, reliable. He won't be confused with Scott Stevens, but he's good.

Change of scenary could do him wonders...

Any offers...It would be a Change of scenery deal here.

Mckee has 1 year left @ 4 million Cap hit for the 2009-2010 season than is a UFA. Had the most Blocks shots in the NHL a few years back, a defensemen d-men here. I know Buffalo fans liked him...

Any players on your team that our signed ONLY until 2010 around the same price Jay makes that needs a change of scenery that you would want to swap with for this year and next?

(Defense, Forward or Goalie...we are open for next season to take on that kind of salary in lieu of Mckee for the 2009-2010 season)

I have always liked Jay McKee.

Markus Naslund fits that criteria.

If the Rangers can move Roszival, then maybe.

That would be a pretty decent deal...although moving Roszival will be near impossible so its not really worth discussing at this point.

It depends what they get back for Roszival.

Healthy scratch lately, I believe the Blues would listen to about anything.

I like it. Get on the AM radio and demand Darcy to call John Davidson.

Seriously.

I asked this at my kid's hockey practice the other night. Glad to see it here. I am of the opinion that we would give him away to be rid of the contract, but agree with the above that it would be an equal swap of a big contract with one year left "needs a change of scenery" guy. Hated this signing from the start.
