Just a thought (for the peeps in montreal)

Have you guys ever tried a meeting at a pub or something to watch a game on this board?

It would be cool to get together a sathurday and watch a game between board members.

Like this upcoming sathurday for example, habs vs leafs game, that'd be great!

CrAzYNiNe 03-10-2004 09:23 PM

We tried back in october, didnt work. Right now I am poor, cause I ma spending the whole lot on a new pc, so ya nomoney for me. BUT A NEW PC FINALLY

I tried organizing something a while ago but I gave up when I learned that most people on this board are below 18. The last thing I want is to have a 10 yr old kid show up and promptly disappear at the same time as some other weird looking shady dude. Not that I care for you guys: I just don't want to have to lose a few hours in my busy day to explain to some cop why you were found in some ditch. :teach:

Really? Weird, I pictured most of our members to be well in their twenties.

I'm one of the oldest regular posters on this forum and I'm 20. Get used to it: the internet is becoming a babysitter (a perverted babysitter offering hardcore pron to its clients but nonetheless a babysitter :rolly:

Carbonneau 03-10-2004 10:36 PM

I'm 23 and I don't think I'd want to habg out with someone who is just going to complain all night anyways.

Who ever's up for a good time and ending up in a ditch, I'm all for it.

During the playoffs it would nice. Im going to the university of Montreal next year and it would be nice to meet some true habs fans. Over here in kitchener most of my freinds are leafs fans and frankly im getting tired of allways having to talk about the leafs, Most of the time I end up with a beating and a bruised arm especially when there are 4 or 5 leafs fan suronding you . God I need a change of scenary.

Malakhov 03-10-2004 10:49 PM

That sucks, it would of been fun to meet up some posters at a pub and enjoy a game between habs fans while downing a few beers!

Dutchy 03-10-2004 10:56 PM

Ok.... Looks like I'm the only sane person remaining here.

Anyway, if anyone still wants to meet for a game a a round of beers, I'm up for it. :)

Fish on The Sand 03-10-2004 11:09 PM

I'd go, except I live across the country.

I'm up for it too, if it were to ever happen.

Although, watching it from the comfort of my own home is oh-so-enjoyable. :)

Edit: There's one way to get me to go, though: make Guy! come and present his game analysis to the whole crowd. :D

Catala 03-11-2004 12:59 AM

i'm up for it.

I think a Playoff meeting would be a nice one. i only hope kerberos exagerated about the 12 years old stuff... wouldn't want to be one of the oldest at 23...

j.lRoberts and i will present you the Game's preview and stats at the beginning of the game :joker: .

#44_delivers 03-11-2004 01:30 AM

i can contribute with yanic and dags bashing.

but i think it would be fun to watch games with new fellow habs fans, though i might break the TV if dags touches the puck too much.

anyways its a pipe dream im in edmonton you guyz are in quebec.

J-D 03-11-2004 02:08 AM

I'm all for it if it is near the downtown. Were you guys thinking of a sports bar? I hope we could find something else than La Cage aux Sports.

Darz 03-11-2004 08:41 AM

Wish I could make it, but the drive from Thunder Bay to Montreal is pretty long.

Hopefully next year, me and my bro are going to drive to Montreal to catch a couple/few habs games. One with awesome seats, one from the bleeds, and one in a sports bar.

If this plan ever gets off the ground, I'll let you guys know which game we will be watching at a bar and where we will be watching it.

Thanks anyway K., I'm especially fond of step #2: "Avoid being alone as much as possible..." haha. I'm done for!

BTW, I'd be up for it too, (and I'm 29 - so beat that! well, not Mcphee) but I'm in Victoria.

Also, if Guy! could do his analysis on powerpoint I would hop on a flight. :)

Malakhov 03-11-2004 10:19 AM

Yeah at a sports bar or a pub that the game is on.
Not la cage aux sports though, way too much people there it would suck.

Let's do this for the playoffs.

Cariboux 03-11-2004 10:33 AM

I would have appreciate to watch a game with you but I'm 6 hours away from MTL

By the way, one guy said he was one of the oldest @ 20, so I'm an old man too since I'm 20 :joker:
