Habs Scandal Part IV

Discuss.

Habsfan18 02-20-2009 12:13 PM

someone posted a link in the last thread saying the Habs are holding a press conference at 2pm today.

I hope the entire team lines up in single file side-by-side and gives the media the middle finger.

Prudentius 02-20-2009 12:13 PM

press conference 2:00 pm by the habs

Marco Corleone 02-20-2009 12:13 PM

I have been posting on these forums for almost 10 years now and not once have I commented about the Montreal media other than occasionally casually mentioning Montreal as a pressure filled hockey market. This is nothing but disgraceful journalism. Absolutely disgraceful.

Habs 4 Life 02-20-2009 12:17 PM

Press conference or practice?

Gagnon says the practice is at 2pm

that would be awesome. i hope the team sticks together in this story.

Philanthropist 02-20-2009 12:21 PM

The french media has been bashing the brothers for quite some time now. I think that the way this story was blown up by epic proportions was no coincidence..

Capitano 02-20-2009 12:21 PM

The media has gotten worse and worse as years pass. I never remember it being this bad when I was a kid.

With the internet and the "I want it now" mentality that the world seems to have today, the media doesn't scrutinize their sources enough.

Hopefully this press conference make a statement to the media that cover the habs, because the whole scene is pretty ridiculous.

Le Maroons 02-20-2009 12:22 PM

**** the media! I want to cheer for my Habs, go to hell.

Playoff Beard 02-20-2009 12:22 PM

From LaPresse

I'm sure the players want to play for us, and they feel the same way towards the media. Hopefully they can show us some passion on saturday.

GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!

la25ecoupe 02-20-2009 12:24 PM

Where's link to press conf?

oilsands 02-20-2009 12:24 PM

If this whole show turns out to be blown out of proportion and overhyped... asides from lawsuits, can the habs do anything to the said media outlets? Completely blacklist them from any interaction with the habs organization? Only give coverage and whatnot to the media orgs that stood beside the Habs (when they could have easily jumped on the la presse ship for the quick buck)???

For some reason, I think this is bigger than what is reported. Honestly, if all it was that a couple K's were hanging with a criminal, they would not have hyped it this much...

Seriously! Someone start a "What does WD do for a living?" thread!

Capitano 02-20-2009 12:24 PM

Anybody know where can we listen to the press conference live?

More believable than most of the stuff posted in parts I-III.

If this is the case, the team has to do something.

i remember years ago, not here in Montreal but a pro sports team put a ban on all journalists from entering the dressing room and they gave NO interviews for the entire season.

It smells like the organization and the medias are working together to electrify this team and make it play with some passion again.
