Redwingsfan 02-22-2009 12:15 AM

Detroit wants to win the cup.. This doesn't help them.

Zata 02-22-2009 12:17 AM

I agree with redwingsfan there..

I also think that the Red Wings would be VERY cautious about any trades with Montreal because of the recent incident.

Salim786 02-22-2009 12:18 AM

yeah, you already have Conklin and Osgood in net.

they're gonna have to do something about Franzen, Hossa and other UFA's but this doesnt do anything for them really

FissionFire 02-22-2009 12:29 AM

How about Franzen for Komisarek?

you dont know much about franzen im assuming. Since Jan 1, 2008 only Ovechkin has scored more goals then Franzen.

LOL not only were neither player involved, but the whole thing is so over blown it's retarded.

The players were seen with this guy and have loose ties with him, but there are no charges being laid against any of the guys, that shows you that they clearly had nothing to do with the mobster/hooker/drug side of him.

highoffglass 02-22-2009 10:21 AM

There is no way detroit trade Franzen, there looking to resign him.

Perhaps but Franzen is a UFA... Not Higgins.

You're kidding? Everything must come to a stand still, even with players that weren't even mentioned in any news reports? :shakehead

r0bert8841 02-22-2009 02:25 PM

would this fit under the cap?

Konnan511 02-22-2009 02:46 PM

Not enough value here, while it would be nice to have more forward depth in prospects, Wings would need a lot more than a goalie who is not an upgrade to Conklin.

You don't give up a potential 40 goal scorer when healthy and a playoff machine for a mid-tier prospect and a back-up goalie, regardless of of a player being a UFA.

OmniSens 02-22-2009 02:53 PM

No from Detroit, they don't need another goalie. And they have plans to possibly resign Franzen.

yeah, i completely agree. I dont think detroit wants to risk trading for players that could go to jail.

Franzen for Price

straight up

-Detroit's goalies are solid but not number ones. With Price they get not only a futur number one but somebody they will have for many years. Also they get a great return for somebody that's a UFA

-Montreal lose Price but they get offensive depth. More importantly they need size on their first two lines.

Of course there's many risks for both. Franzen would not 100% sure re-sign with Montreal. And Detroit's risk is they still have solid goal tending and losing Franzen for the playoffs is a big blow.

But this could be beneficial for both.

And you don't know much about emoticons I'm assuming :shakehead

Zubrus Coffee Maker 02-22-2009 03:17 PM

so the wings trade an elite scorer for a down-grade in net(IMO) and a good young player? The wings are looking for the cup so how would this help them?

Oh cool we trade the franchise for a rental, awesome deal. Say, you should really become a GM, you're so smart and knowledgeable. Damn, what a fine deal that is! I cannot believe my eyes. We get Franzen for 3 months? Wow I won't need viagra for a whole season, so awesome. Really. I swear.

Yeah... Trade your future number 1 and potential top 5 goalie in the league for a pending UFA. Brilliant. :shakehead

Getcha Dion 02-22-2009 03:38 PM
