Flyers Fan Forever 03-01-2009 11:14 AM

I really wish we won the Cup in 03-04
I loved that team.

So many great moments. From finally beating the Devils, to Kapanen struggling to get back to the bench, to Roenick's goal, to Premieu's game-tying goal, to Gagne's goal... That was a Cup story for the ages.

I'm still sad that they lost.

PhillyFan4Ever 03-01-2009 11:16 AM

i dont htink youll find many flyers fans who will take the opposite point

Teezax 03-01-2009 11:29 AM

i really thought we had it that year as well, especially when Gags won it in game 6, i think I shed a tear. I'm sure we would have beaten CGY too.

So many great moments that year....

- Knocking off the Stanley Cup champs in Round 1
- Sami Kapanen
- JR's Game 6 OT Winner
- Keith Primeau
- Game 6 of the ECF - one of the best Flyers games ever
- Danny Markov
- Alexei Zhamnov
- Esche's terrible goaltending

The only game I have not watched again from that year is Game 7 of the ECF.

flyers ltd 03-01-2009 11:44 AM

I have all the ECF games on VHS if somebody wants to buy them. Real cheap. PM me.

TheTaekster 03-01-2009 11:46 AM

I love this team more, so let's just win it this year :)

DeadPhish5858 03-01-2009 11:48 AM

After that playoff run i was certain we'd win the cup in 04-05. Then the lockout happened.

Dig Out Your Soul 03-01-2009 11:49 AM

I don't. I hope we win in the future!

Adam Warlock 03-01-2009 11:59 AM

That flyers team vs that flames team wouldve been the best stanley cup finals...ever.

mikedifr 03-01-2009 12:05 PM

Nah, there is no way we would have beaten Calgary.....Hitch was a terrible coach and Primeau was a horrible captain. I hated that team :sarcasm:

I think we could of taken Calgary if we hadnt gotten ****ed by injuries

kicksave27 03-01-2009 12:46 PM

so does the NHL, then maybe people would have watched the finals, and would have made some revenue from championship gear. way to go expansion

Mr Lahey* 03-01-2009 02:09 PM

What a year. Would have loved to see Toronto-Philly the next year. Then everything came crashing down. Those playoff rivalries were second to none.

Readyrock 03-01-2009 10:51 PM

I wish Keith Primeau didn't have a pillowy-soft skull.

Readyrock 03-01-2009 10:57 PM

I see your Skee-Lo, and raise you an R. Kelly.

Pope Pogo II 03-01-2009 11:00 PM

That was definitely a great year, great playoff run, and the series VS Tampa was probably one of the best series I have ever seen, except for the fact it didn't end the way I, or any of us wanted it to. Without a doubt the most painful loss I had ever seen.

Our defense through that run was held together with gum and paper clips.

If I remember correctly, dinosaurs like Malakov were taking, like 1,000 minutes a game... same with Sami-Kap.

sa cyred 03-01-2009 11:13 PM

Well... for some reason I want to know the lineup...anyone remember it?. lol

Wow, I don't remember that.

Dude what an all-star team. I loved that team I remember that **** like it was yesterday. I have that Johnsson jersey he wore during that season. **** I hold that year very close to me.

Sort of.

Our 2004 forwards would've been unbeatable if they were assembled in 1996.

ShawnTHW 03-01-2009 11:40 PM

I have said it many times before. My first memory of any Flyers game was my first game when they played the Stars in 97 or 98 and tied them 3-3. However, that was just a vague memory and up until 2000, those years in between have all been a blur. I remember the Primeau 5 OT goal against the Pens and that is where my true love for hockey began. I saw this team take shape from 2000 and grew up with them all the way through the 2003-04 season. I screamed louder when Gagne won Game 6 over when Lupul beat the Caps in game 7 last year. It was just a such a thrill to be apart of that team, the players, and the fans. The Orange Crush photo, still sticks out in my mind. Just an amazing atmosphere and amazing time to be a Flyers fan.

was the top 9 I think
