Two prospects and a condition pick.

So I see the boards are back. I'll miss Bonino, but I like Moen

jax00 03-04-2009 08:00 PM

Sharks fans will love Moen. And Huskins is a great 5/6 D-Man.

i'm with you on this one. i think this is a good trade for both teams, although i hate the idea of bonino scoring big goals against the sharks down the road. can't wait to see moen in teal though.

wooooooooo moen

If I'm not mistaken, Moen, like Pahlsson, will be an Unrestricted Free Agent this summer. He was an important part of the Ducks shutdown line and should help an already-talented Sharks team in the playoffs. Huskins is a solid # 5 or 6 d-man. As a Ducks fan, I got pretty excited when I read about Bonino. Trade satisfies both teams immediate needs.

Blades of Glory 03-04-2009 09:03 PM

It is a deal that will help the Sharks a lot come playoff time. Moen is the type of player this team needed. Huskins will take Semenov's place as the #7 defenseman.

superpie 03-04-2009 09:06 PM

Huskin is solid, Moen is part of that shut down line Anaheim had. I like the trade for the Sharks. Ducks came out pretty good too.

SiCKNESS 03-04-2009 09:06 PM

Great deal for SJ

Starsdude 03-04-2009 09:10 PM

How good is Bonino, seems like Ducks got hosed-not really impressed with what ducks did-

tylerbear* 03-04-2009 09:12 PM

Moen will look nice on the Sharks, especially in the playoffs.

xeric716x 03-04-2009 09:12 PM

good deal for the Sharks

How can you say you're not impressed and that the Ducks got hosed when you admit you're not even familiar with Bonino? How about Timo? + the Conditional...

Honestly, it's a good trade for both sides.

Fighter 03-04-2009 09:21 PM

Well done San Jose, Moen is a great team player.

BCShark 03-04-2009 09:23 PM

nice trade DW, moen is great!

Paul4587 03-04-2009 09:25 PM

You guys will love Moen in San Jose, he is a heart and soul player and will drop the gloves with anyone. Huskins has been pretty average this year, he's nothing more than a #6 dman.

BadHammy* 03-04-2009 09:33 PM

Isn't Timo highly regarded?

Shaun_W_W 03-04-2009 09:37 PM

Damn Sharks forwards are scary deep once everyone is back
Marleau - Thornton - Setoguchi
Michalek - Pavelski - Clowe
Moen - Mitchell - Grier
Cheechoo/Roenick/Goc/Lemieux/Plihal/Shelley

For Duck fans:

Bonino is a boom or bust type prospect. In my opinion he is our most talented winger prospect (although McGinn is more of a lock to make the team). He has good size, excellent puck skills, and is a solid goal scorer. He has some speed issues, but they should no longer keep him out of the league. I am pretty disappointed to lose him, and it also hurts our chance to sign fellow BU prospect Matt Gilroy.

I haven't seen Timo much, but he is a solid goalie prospect. However, with Stalock, Greiss, and Sateri he isn't a huge loss.

FromDubiToZherdev* 03-04-2009 09:41 PM

And there is San Jose's third liner who can do it all. Good luck!

ToursLepantoVienna 03-04-2009 09:45 PM

Love this trade for the Sharks.

The 3rd line just got a lot tougher with Moen. Huskins is a solid, experienced depth defenceman. Both acquired without giving up any roster players.

Good job Doug Wilson.

You'll have a better shot at Gilroy if you agree to give his BU teammate John McCarthy (Sharks pick) a tryout. (/BU fan)

Nice for Sharks, they need guys like Moen to get them over the hump when they look like girls in the 2nd round

Blades of Glory 03-04-2009 10:30 PM

I sense Steve Ott will be a little more careful when he plays against the Sharks.

I hope Clowe can now just play instead of trying to fight and score at the same time.
