Which trade deadline player?

Now that trade deadline day has passed and we all saw the players moved. Which player of the ones moved would you have liked to see added to the Habs? You can only pick one.

I would have to go with O'Sullivan, he would be the only player that I really wished we could have added.

Myron Gaines* 03-05-2009 07:00 AM

Steve Montador

Garo 03-05-2009 07:00 AM

Travis Moen.

Bad Natey 03-05-2009 07:07 AM

Antropov.

Riverboat Gambler 03-05-2009 07:09 AM

Pahlsson probably...

Marco Corleone 03-05-2009 07:11 AM

O'Sullivan and Recchi

The Rocket 03-05-2009 07:13 AM

Quality ones, of course they do.
Perhaps they could score more then 1 goal next time they play a team like Buff who are chasing them in the playoff hunt.:shakehead

Kyle McLaren, not because he's any good, but because he's tough as nails, and Paille would have been beaten up good for running Price yesterday...

Sometimes goalies other than Montreal`s steal a game...if not for Halak`s heroics last week ...they`d already be on the outside lookin` in

Jokinen, clearly.

He was had for scraps and isn't a free-agent until 2010.

LeClaire if he was healthy.

Turtleneck Plek 03-05-2009 07:55 AM

Antropov, Pahlsson and Upshall (yes I know we already have more than enough RWs, but I dream to see him playing with Lappy).

I'd have said Morris, but seeing what he went for, I'm happy we didn't get him.

Montador, too. For the type of player he is, and the price that was paid to hiom. how come Gainey didi not see that one. D'Agostini or O'Byrne would had been enough to get him.

Montador was near the 6/7th D in Anaheim, playing just over 16 min per game...

No, he wasn't. He was + 14, had 20 points (3rd for the D-men) on top of that, physical... Ideal for a number 5 and sometimes numer 4. You prefer Komisarek ?

DoN,t get fooled by the 16 minutes. pronger and Niedermayer are playing like 28 each. Beauchemin is gone since ages with injury. Huskins was also traded to SJ yesterday.

Lately he was playing 20+, he would've been our 4th dman. I hate seeing Schneider playing 20-25 minutes as 39 year old. I thought it was a good addition to our club, but you can't keep playing him like a 2nd dman game after game. Carbo is drunk.

It's not an opinion, it's a fact. Montador was 6/7 D in Anaheim, playing just over 16 min/game, like Brisebois with us. Last year with Florida, he was also the 7th D, playing 11 min/game.

And you think Montador is better than Komisarek? :amazed:

Nevertheless, I think Montador would have been a good addition, but for the price of D'Agostni or O'Byrne, surely not...

I'm not a big fan of Roberts, but I definitely would have been happy if we added any of the others on your list.

Bacchus1 03-05-2009 10:54 AM

Jokinen. Big center. We need that now, and I think he would have fit in well. But, that being said, I don't think on trade would have changed the team as much as Schneider already has. That was our central weakness, and we dealt with it. Size up the middle is an issue too, but not as serious.

keemo905 03-05-2009 02:40 PM

I say Guerin. He is old and slow, but has tons of character. He would have walked in the locker room and kicked some of the cocky young butts in there.

We don't have tons of leadership. I think having so many young kids, we needed a bit more leadership.

Recchi was awful in the lockerroom in Montreal and in Pittsburgh.

Garry Valk 03-05-2009 02:55 PM

O'Sullivan or Gary Roberts.

How Roberts cleared waivers I do not understand. He is EXACTLY what we need.
