I swear most of the stuff is 100% made up. Kessel? Ya right, why would the Blues even bother. Same with the Pronger crap. Give me a break...

Kessel is due for a big raise as are others for the B's this summer and Perron isn't exactly a bag of pucks

DreamCatcher* 03-05-2009 08:13 PM

If thats true about the Poni trade, then Burke has no one but to blame himself for waiting until the last 15 minutes of the deadline to make his trades.

It's called Negotiating, it takes time. Go look at the ESPN article, about Don Waddel about the Hossa-Trade, he finished negotiations with 3 minutes before the deadline.

Maloney on Phoenix Coyotes website confirmed that there were a couple of teams that were offering big money goalies for Derek Morris. This validates the rumor floated out by Bob Mckenzie of Biron and/or Fernandez being offered to Phoenix as part of a three way contract.

http://coyotes.nhl.com/team/app/?ser...ticleid=412571

it's at about the 4:20 mark of the audio interview.

Only haps fans thought Lecavier to Montreal. And Eklund, but does his opinion matter?

SaveByHexy 03-05-2009 09:20 PM

I've read Lehtonen to Philly

What happened to Kaberle, Antropov, and Moore for Malkin, Crosby, Ovechkin, and Lebron James in a multi-team deal? I heard that a bunch.

LeBron wouldn't waive his NMC. If he had, it was a done deal.

Respect Your Edler 03-05-2009 10:08 PM

I bet LeBron James would've been a sweet hockey player.

It looks like the coyotes were on the verge of a another big deal--but they ran out of tiime.
Maloney was going to be on the team out of Edmonton about 1/2 before the deadline---he was on the phone setting up the interview when he said he had another deal on the go and couldn't go on the air

Schennanigans 03-06-2009 02:43 AM

Wow that sucks if that's true about Poni. :(

Where'd you hear that, the Blues board?

The quoted Strickland, who I believe is a Blue writer no? And they didn't quote him properly from what I saw. No where did he say who backed out.

From what we know (reliable inside source on the B's board - Mod approved and never been wrong before), it happened the other way around.

According to them the Bruins and Blues had the deal done, and Tkachuk was saying his goodbyes. Kessel was not involved and it was made clear by Chia he wouldn't be involved period. At the last second the Blues insisted on Kessel being included, basically wasting the last hour of the trade deadline for the B's. They thought Boston wanted Tkachuk bad enough they would severely overpay. Chia of course said no and now that bridge is apparently burned, as it was kind of a ******** move on the Blues part and there are some bad feelings about the whole situation.

Take it for what it's worth, but again our source isn't very vocal, and has never been off the mark.
