Lundqvist stomach issue (Expected to start against Preds)

Quote:

As for Hank, Andrew Gross is reporting that Hank has a “mysterious stomach ailment”. He hasn’t been able to keep his food down, and is always feeling run down and tired. Sounds like mono to me.

If Hank has mono, that doesn’t bode well.
This is just terrible.

Burlington Bomb 26 03-11-2009 03:01 PM

Seasons over.

ThirdEye 03-11-2009 03:02 PM

Sounds like symptoms of having to play for a ****** team for most of the season

I hope it's not mono. If it is we're screwed

theking72 03-11-2009 03:03 PM

Could just be a physical reaction to the team's play of the last few weeks

NYRFAN218 03-11-2009 03:03 PM

This isn't good at all. On the other hand, you can recover from mono pretty quick if you have a strong immune system. I had it about a year ago and was only truly sick for a couple of days. The bad thing with this though is it never goes away.

hlundqvist30* 03-11-2009 03:03 PM

Food poisoning? Please?

Mason in CLB played through his mono. If Hank has it, hopefully he can do the same...

Fitzy 03-11-2009 03:06 PM

Looks like our season rests on Vally. Lets hope he has it in him.

007 03-11-2009 03:06 PM

Yeesh! Who gets a call-up? Can the team still sign a backup?

KotsyJr 03-11-2009 03:07 PM

From http://rangers.lohudblogs.com/:

Quote:

Henrik Lundqvist has been fighting a stomach ailment. It’s why he didn’t play on Monday and why he missed the post-game interviews after a win over Boston on Sunday, when he was getting intravenous fluid. Hear the gruesome details and we fumble to understand the ailment.

He still doesn’t know why he was throwing up so much during the game that he needed those fluids. He doesn’t feel sick, he just can’t eat big meals comfortably beginning last week. Lundqvist said he is taking medicine for it now and expects it to clear up.

Does it worry Rangers coach John Tortorella?

“Not for a second,” Tortorella said. He expects Lundqvist will be in goal against Nashville tomorrow.
Let's just hope he's OK and can play through whatever it is.

Loto68 03-11-2009 03:07 PM

If he does have mono, Miikka Wiikman will be getting called up soon.

That doesn't sound like a great idea

I was just going to quote that

Doesn't seem like anything serious then

silverfish 03-11-2009 03:08 PM

When you have mono can't you not let anything hit your spleen otherwise it will rupture?

I would expect Wiikman, because he has more experience, but Zaba's played the better of the two lately.

I had a terrible case of Mono, and it had nothing to do with vomiting, in fact i didnt vomit once during the 3 month sickness. Nausea, yes, with a wicked sore throat and fatigue... But no vomiting.

Take it for what its worth.

Sounds like a bad stomach virus to me.

Sorry, here's the link to the original quote.

I hope the blogger is not a doctor.

Same here, I wouldn't be able to last past 9 on some nights I was so tired.

When I had it, the doctor told me to stay away from physical contact and sports for a couple of weeks because of this.

HockeyBurd* 03-11-2009 03:13 PM

Where the hell does the idea that he has "mono" come from? How do you speculate that somebody has mono because a guy is having stomach problems? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Burlington Bomb 26 03-11-2009 03:14 PM

Since he'll play against Nashville doubt it's that serious...

John Torturella 03-11-2009 03:15 PM

How do you speculate upon something so serious with no concrete information? Seems unprofessional for a writer to speculate on someone's health like this. After all he is a writer, not a doctor. And from what I have read, mono does NOT include stomach issues.

I know its pretty lame, whoever wrote that (link?) should chill out with speculation there.

Dagoon44 03-11-2009 03:17 PM

here we go again lol he just can't be counted on for a full season once again :help:

HockeyBasedNYC 03-11-2009 03:17 PM

Put it to bed. (no pun intended)

a bunch of people I work with were throwing up over the weekend. Hopefully it's just that, but to speculate mono when all you hear is he's tired and can't keep his food down seems a bit irresponsible.
