Standard Blades on a Tapered Shaft

Before you yell;
I know they dont fit.

So ive got a few new standard crossover blades(jagr) left, and a few new tapered shafts. I sanded down the hozels(?) to make it fit in my new shafts. my question is this; Now that Ive done this, have I seriously messed up the blades? Will they break when I use them? I wouldn't be upset about losing the blades, I just wanted to use them instead of never using them. The problem Is however, the shaft is very rounded on the inside, so even if I bought tapered blades, id have to sand them down.

am I over thinking this? does sanding down blades even matter?

You're certainly welcome to try. Be sure to have some hot melt glue available.

well, I did it already. and Ive glued them in.

but still want to know how much ive damaged them

If they're wood, it shouldn't matter too much. If they're composite, expect them to break in short order.

all wood, forgot to mention.

When you sanded them down, did you notice any chipping? If not, you should be just fine, wood is pretty strong even when you shave it down. Of course it depends by the blade as I know nothing about the particular blade you are using, but I would imagine you would be fine.

I had a little chipping on the sides initially, but smooth sanded deeper than the chip.
