anyone being realistic would know contraction had a 0% chance of happening to begin with. The union would never let that happen.

A lockout would suck big time. Both sides are forgetting the fans who actually line their pockets. Both sides are grossly overpaid as ticket prices climb sky high and the game is becoming impossible for the average family to afford. If they lock out, it's going to hurt them both and they will deserve it. :mad:

There can't be contraction under Bettman, because there was expansion under Bettman. Contraction means expansion was the wrong decision, and hence Gary should be out of a job.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm so sick of these millionaires playing a game most of us would play for free, that I almost hope the the NHL completely folds. A few years from now a grass roots league could be started up and be filled with players who simply play for the love of the game. Players who aren't commited to the game for million dollar payoff, but rather people who play for the love fo the game and the $75 grand/year salary.
