A New Twist to the Jersey Ban in Ottawa

http://www.mapleleafs.com/story.ml?t...1&e=AdminGroup

As a Leafs fan, I'm happy to see this.

V for Voodoo 03-19-2004 02:32 PM

:handclap: Great Stuff.

Bill McNeal 03-19-2004 02:53 PM

Very classy move. And I'm a Hab fan, so I don't usually give out compliments to the Leafs :) But this really was a great gesture.

SensGod 03-19-2004 03:12 PM

See...now that's just cool...instead of turning it into a "lose/lose" pissing contest...this'll turn into a "win/win" pissing contest that benefits both cities.

Classy move!

:handclap:

Now I just hope that our brain dead mayor pays attention to how it's really done.

BruinsGirl 03-19-2004 03:19 PM

Great move Leafs! :yo:

Will Ottawa respond? I hope so!

The King of Town 03-19-2004 03:21 PM

awesome! perfect response!

I hope the Sens match or exceed, in both cities... and why not other cities as well? let's start something here!

Finally, it looks like the winners will be the food banks, like it was meant to be in the first place. Classy move by MLSE.

Porn* 03-19-2004 03:26 PM

amen....

let's make ottawa look worse :joker:

Very good deed indeed...

More teams need to be doing this more often... :handclap:

Schenn02 03-19-2004 03:29 PM

About the Sens matching, pfft they will go Bankrupt again. Anyway that was a great move by MLSE. I'm so proud of them, that hick mayor or councillor or whomever, thats what you get. Go MLSE!

I agree, very intelligent response by the Leafs.

I think the sens should match. Don't exceed it because then you get into a game of possible one up manship.

Great move by MLSE. Bad post by you.

Raging Bull 03-19-2004 03:37 PM

Classy counter-move.

Thanks, I really don't mean it in a bad way, more like a joke because we know what happened with Ottawa last year. I'm proud of MLSE, that was a great move and it shows that they back their fans. What would be great is seeing the Toronto Maple Leafs players come into the Corel Centre and donate food as well showing how classy they can be as well.

Well then I retract my previous statement.

SopelFan* 03-19-2004 04:54 PM

Toronto 1 vs Ottawa -1

ehc73 03-19-2004 05:07 PM

Contribution to the food bank: $5000
Making a clueless mayor look like a moron: priceless

Hitman* 03-19-2004 05:13 PM

Now Ottawa will respond by donating fifty MILLION! Who'll be laughing then!

To me it seems like the Mayor and council got exactly what they wanted. Some hype for the food bank donation scheme. Why not use the Sens-Leafs rivalry to do some good for charity? Hardly clueless, but brilliant I say.

Nice move by the Leafs.

whats next
toronto maple leaf fans wont be able to park there cars in the corel center parking lot, unless they donate to the food bank?

good pr move by the leafs.

rye&ginger 03-19-2004 08:51 PM

Maybe the Sens can hand out 'How to improve your sense of humor' self help books at the game also...

Also stickinassectomys will be performed free of charge!

JaykaShman 03-19-2004 09:01 PM

Perhaps next Mats will be donating some Campbell's Chunky soup or whatever the heck soup that commercial was for to the Ottawa foodbank.

I love this move by the Leafs, stickin it to em where it hurts most in this case, PR.

Now Leaf fans will be twice as loud in Ottawa and there'll be twice as many Leaf-fans there. Not looking too bright for the Sens...

Jay

I would.

Mr. Melnyk 'You decided to boost fan support, you've done just the opposite and it's costing me $50 million dollars?!?! Screw you guys, I'm going home...' *ahem*
