Can you believe TSN?

How ignorant can the writers at TSN be to not put Saku Koivu on the list of Top 25 Europeans, this guy should be at least top 10. :dunno:

BLONG7 03-19-2004 04:37 PM

TSN's lists are generally BS!!! I'm sure they didn't miss Matts(your Mommy's calling you)Sundin...

J-D 03-19-2004 04:40 PM

Well, at first, I was thinking, "Oh goals must be more important in their rankings." Then I see Kovalchuk 24th. :dunno:

I wouldn't pay any attention to it, the whole list is BS. They have Mikko at #2 claiming it's based on this years productivity, but then Forsberg at #1 even though he's only played in 32 games? Not to mention Kenny Jonsson being in the top 25 over many other players including Chara.

J-D 03-19-2004 04:43 PM

Kenny Jonsson had one helluva good season. But this is BS for sure. I'd like to know what's their formula??

Belarus Rocket 03-19-2004 04:43 PM

Yah IT'S Complete BS!!!They should hire some new Writer

Something that has to do with a hammer and a head.

Tuggy 03-19-2004 04:44 PM

TSN's list are mind boggling....I doubt the people that write even understand their formula's.

I give credit to Kipper for what he has done this season but to list him at the second best player from Europe is insane!

J-D 03-19-2004 04:45 PM

I think the problem is, they try not to be biased towards a particular team, so they use objective rankings based on statistics. But, their formula REALLY must suck!!!

didjuicythat 03-19-2004 04:48 PM

Didn't see the list, but I'm sure it's BS...
Has anyone seen the TSN power rankings? It's laughable. :joker:

Ok, I don't understand why you're poking fun at him but do you not think Mats Sundin is a top 25 European in the NHL?

I think that Saku Koivu should be there, particulary in place of Jiri Slegr or Nils Ekman. He's definetely better than either of them.

Something else strange is Robert Lang 11th on the list, the guy who has been at the top of the league scoring and might have won it if he hadn't been injured.

Here's a link if anyone wants it. LINK

We've tried to figure this out recently in other threads, and determined that they don't seem to use stats, nor logic, so I think you'd be afraid to know!

Heathen 03-19-2004 04:55 PM

TSN

Toronto's Sports Network

Easy guys. The formula's obviously "weird" but not biased towards anybody. I mean, Visnovsky ahead of Lidstrom?!?!?

It would be fun to see the formula though.

didjuicythat 03-19-2004 05:22 PM

Miikaa Kiprusoff at #2... before he gets traded to Calgary in November, most of the people said he was nothing but an average back up goalie. I don't think having 25 good starts makes him #2. There are so many guys that should go ahead of him, and Nick Lidstrom is first on that list.

This list is BS. Jiri Slegr and Nils Ekman in front of Khabibulin and Kovalchuk! :joker:

EaGLE1 03-19-2004 05:48 PM

Jagr is not on that list. But Slegr is

Belarus Rocket 03-19-2004 05:55 PM

And Chara

is there 25 european players in the leafs team ???

Habsfunk 03-19-2004 06:06 PM

That list really is mind-bogglingly bad. Everything is wrong other than Forsberg at #1.

Hellboy30 03-19-2004 09:13 PM

You mean the Toronto Sports Network (TSN)?

They tend to think that any team beside the Leafs are not worthy contnders, and therefore, not worthy of broadcasting on TV. How could they vote for Koivu? They have hardly ever seen him play! :joker:

Jacques Strappe 03-19-2004 09:51 PM

Everybody should do themselves a favour and not read any ranking list published by TSN.

Not to sound too gay or get too personal, but I imagine if they published a list of the NHL's 'best looking' guys, it would include the likes of Rod Brind'Amour, Dany Heatley, and of course for a T.O. rep, Tie Domi! I'm sure there are pleny others who would fit this category...
