Best Burgers In Vancouver?

Since you were so helpful in my pizza quest I thought I'd seek advice on burgers.

YogiCanucks 05-01-2009 05:11 PM

Sometimes, Stampede Burger at Red Robin is just the best way to go.

BTW. Awesome-sauce thread, I like the Parabs.

:yo:

My three favourites, in order, are:

1) Vera's Burger Shack

2) White Spot

3) Red Robin

pitseleh 05-01-2009 05:11 PM

I've always been a fan of Vera's burgers.

Zorbane 05-01-2009 05:12 PM

Hmm ask Wellwood he might know. :sarcasm:

I am also a fan of White Spot

2) Solid Choice, Double-Double is awesome, or even the Legendary

1) Never had a Vera's Burger, Everyone keeps talking about them.

Best burger I ever had was in this Burger joint in South Maui, Beef fresh from the island... but that's hardly in Vancouver is it?

Drunk Chicken Burger at Vera's = best chicken burger ever created, hands down

YogiCanucks 05-01-2009 05:14 PM

Market Grill at Granville island, I don't know how I forgot that but they have a tremendous selection of burgers, almost all of them are terrific.

Orly?

I live like 10 minutes away from them, and I've never tried one.

Any recommendations?

Moderne Burger, it's right across from White Spot on West Broadway.

I, too live 10 minutes away from there . . . I wonder how often I see you rolling through the neighbourhood?

Vera's is great.

Splitz Grill on Main is also supposed to dominate the Burger competition, though i have yet to eat there.

YogiCanucks 05-01-2009 05:22 PM

**** I'm hungry

Listen to me: Moderne Burger. Located right beside Benny's Bagels on West Broadway. This place does the best burgers in town. (Vera Burgers are too fat and the meat is too seasoned for me) They also do amazing shakes, and the cherry/vanilla cokes are syrup injected on site! and it is the coolest looking non-tacky 50's Diner.

FruityPants3* 05-01-2009 05:24 PM

Milestones 4 cheese veggie burger

I am going to try this out... tomorrow.

Moderne Burger and Vera's are my two picks.

But OT: In-N-Out in Cali is amazing.

There are quite a few wheelchairers around here.

kideh 05-01-2009 05:33 PM

One more vote for Moderne Burger. Failing that, Splitz on Main @ around 28th.

Although, if you're feeling classy: http://www.dbbistro.ca/menus/canucks.pdf

You will not be disappointed, my friend. Be advised that the place can have line-ups... But take that as a sign of how good the place is.

Also, there is this really good place on 1067 Davie St called Urban Burger. There are only like 3 things on the menu, but they do them very well. A very simple and clean burger. Similar to a White Spot Burger.

Imbroglio 05-01-2009 05:38 PM

Splitz is pretty good. Their tuna burger, Italian sausage burger and Lamb burger are quite excellent.

There used to be a place on Cambie (and ~17th) called Harlo, but it's gone, their burgers were fantastic.

Crave on Main and King Ed. has very good burgers also - I got mine with blue cheese....mmmmm

Never had Moderne...sounds good. I'm not a huge fan of Vera's.

Still, nothing beats a home-made ground sirloin burger on the grill.

That's all they talk about. Apparently they said it's "Best Burger in North America" good. I really want to try one of these boys.

HedonisticAltruism 05-01-2009 05:47 PM

Best I've ever had was at Feenie's. $15 with fries and for another $30 you could add foie gras. Not that I could've afforded that! Too bad he it tanked with Lumiere.

Vera's is decent... I keep wanting to go to Moderne Burger but it seems perpetually under construction - I assume it actually is open these days?
