Wow that is horrible. Hockey in general is in deep trouble. This completely destroys the myth that all the crap happening around the NHL is because of Canadian influence.

that was ugly. basicly they saying that all that **** wouldn't happend if zdeno ciger got more that 6 games suspesion for attacking referee earlier id semi series in slovak extra liugue.
do you remeber zdeno ciger guys? he's played for edmonton and then for rangers couple years latter.
i grew up on czecho-slovak and have never seen that king of ****. :mad:

WOW, unreal! If a player attacked a ref like that in the NHL I don't think he would ever be back again!

Esti, s'en prendre aux arbitres, une mise en échec dans le dos le cas qui a LE plus gros collet cervical que j'ai jamais vu...heye même dans le semi-pro yont plus de classe...franchement, encore, s'en prendre aux arbitres...même si des fois on y pense à bousculer un arbitre on le fait pas par savoir vivre mais c'est un des gestes les plus immoraux que j'ai vu.

Chooooooooooouuuuu pour ces connards, ils mériteraient de jouer contre les Flyers du temps de Gary Galley. Là ils en mangerait toute une.

Russians guys hitting referees in a normal game...refs were not able to defend themselves one has been asault and the other one has been punched and another was separated from action by a hockey player from the team who was assaulting those refs...what a crap.

ok it was ugly... but it looks like the refs had the game out of control way before all that crap happened. I mean, at one point the refs are not doing their jobs. It's not an excuse for attacking a ref in a such way. Well, what can we say?

It's actually in Solvakia, and the player involved is Zdeno Ciger, who used to play in the NHL.

there is a thread about this on the NHL talk forum...has a link to a Real Player version of it.

I agree though...really sick. He should be banned for life.

in fact in the clip are three different attacks. initial (zdeno ciger) one 1:14, the big one (martin mraz) 0:40 as a consequence of first one (according to reporter) an then similar example from czech ligue (ales pisa). :teach:

ciger hit referee a got suspension for 6 game. the big attack (mraz) took place in next game.

The newsanchor chick is hot though.

For shame I thought the same thing.

The attack is brutal, especially the chop with the stick on the Ref before he got pummeled. It reminded me of a Broomball game I saw about 20 years ago of all things when the Ref made a call that one team didn't like. Out of nowhere two guys from the team turned on the Ref and, against the boards, beat him unconscious. Even sadder were the fans cheering it on. I saw worse in Church League hockey though.

What the heck are Francois Gagnon and Luc Gelinas doing in the video? Is this a canadian based solvakian TV?

they just mentioned that some dirty staff have happend in NHL letely but that is simply brutal.
