With all the Brayden Schenn talk going around I wondered if a deal like this could get pushed through....

To Toronto
Wayne Simmonds or Thomas Hickey
Brayden Schenn

To Los Angeles
Tomas Kaberle or Pavel Kubina
Alex Ponikarovsky or Mikhail Grabovski
Anton Stralman or Ian White
Choice of Picks in 2010


Toronto would add the guy they really wanted from the draft and add a guy in Simmonds that can absolutely Fly and can be a guy to bang in the corners. Or instead get a guy like Hickey who could be an Ian White type player in a few years.

The Kings get the puck moving D-man they need while Doughty continues to develop. A guy that will get them 20 goals or a guy who will develop into someone who can get them 20+ goals and either a good you d-man prospect in Stralman or a guy who can eat up the minutes like White.

Leaf Fans probably will not like this but I suspect some Kings fans may not mind it.

It's overpayment for him, but we aren't getting Schenn. Get over it.

Kubina, Poni, Stalman, and a 4th in '10 for Schenn and Simmonds? Fine.

Now we can have the Schenn brothers and JJ can have Tomas Kaberle to teach him the ropes.

Why do people keep posting this?? We already lost out on him, we're 99.99% not getting him. Now stop posting this!

I don't know what the big deal is. I know Toronto isn't going to get Schenn but I also know 2/3 of players in proposals on this board will most likely not be traded either.

People shouldn't get so worked up over this. It's only the interweb.

Hmm, I would only do this deal if the Kings added Frolov.

It won't stop... this is actually part of a Canadian Government Plan known as THEP, short for the Toronto Hockey Entitlement Program.... It's a program similar to Canadian health care where Leafs fans figure they're entitled to anything they don't have, that they want or need.

But unlike their single payer health program they feel they shouldn't have to actually PAY for the players they want... in these proposals, not only do they get what they want, but they don't pay nearly the tax rate or co-pay they do for health care. They sorta just take the player they feel they're entitled to from other teams. Kinda funny and desperate actually :help:

i think it has to do more with the repitition than the content.

I don't think DL is willing to part with Hickey; seems like he could be a great building block for the future alongside Doughty. Everyone seems to love Simmons in LA; which I don't really understand why...his points & +/- aren't that impressive. He's like a Boyd Deveraux type; fast, grinds, battles.

The Leafs are probably looking to rebuild, so why give up the guy most likely to replace Kaberle in Stralman & future picks? White's only 25 so his best years are ahead of him and seems like he'd be the best choice to build around with Schenn

Schenn won't make the lineup and I dunno how much pressure, if any, for LA to make some noise in the playoffs next season so maybe this works? I know Schenn being moved is like, 1.5% but; a guy can dream, right?

Just a thought for a few Leaf fans who can't let this go.

LA would take kaberle but we don't NEED him as much as we need a guy like B. Schenn.

Not interested in Poni or Kubina for that matter not at the cost of our top young prospects.

Simmonds is quickly becoming a fan favorite and adds toughness to relatively soft team.

Schenn alone is getting annoying, adding Simmonds is just going to make it worst.
