A lot of Trade proposals pop up... but It might be better to have it all in one thread.... thoughts?

If you don't like the idea, I'll change to title to my current Proposal



To Pittsburgh: Tomas Kaberle, Nikolai Kulemin, Jiri Tlusty
To Toronto: Jordan Staal, Eric Tangradi

If not

To Pittsburgh: Nikolai Kulemin, Ian White
To Toronto: Eric Tangradi


Thoughts?

Why give up two young roster players for a good, not great, prospect? White and Kulemin are much better than Eric Tangradi right now.

As for you first proposal, although I would love to have Staal in a Leafs uniform, I think thats a steep price. I don't see Tangradi as a better prospect than Tlusty or Kulemin. The Leafs are better off keeping their players.

It's obvious that the Pens would want more than just Kaberle for Staal but I don't know if I would add the like of Kulemin or Tlusty right now.

The likes of Kadri, Kulemin and Tlusty should be pretty close to untouchable right now unless we are getting a real impact player in return and with although respect to Jordan Staal, he isn't that "impact" player.

It's a very good idea to have made up trade proposals in one thread

I propose the Leafs make trades that improve their chances of winning the cup at some point in the future.

I know that neither of these are likely but i dont think they are that unrealistic.
It makes for one hell of an exciting roster for next season.

Staal might fail miserably in Toronto. He ain't consistant enough. He plays soft game at times. I guess all Staals do. But they can win some big games.

I would get rid of Tlusty. I would keep White.

Your proposals are usually alright, but these ones are down right bad.

I wouldn't even do Kulemin for Tangradi.....he's just an OK prospect.

why make trades for the sake of trades. Guess Howard's loservillel comment is right.

Trade 1: LA would never talk to Burke again.

Trade 2: Burke would never talk to Gillis again.

I think you need to find fair value (on even grounds) between your two proposals.

I like this trade, although Frogren can play the 7th-8th d-man with the Leafs.

Brad Lukowich ($1.6M/1)

Both team receive needs. Sharks get a cheaper option up front, who, while not as talented, could return to 20+ goal form with the Sharks. They get a D-man who is capable of playing any situation, including forward. And a prospect who, once finished school, could be a very good forward in the NHL.

The Leafs add a responsible top 6 winger, who could be a fixture on the top line.

That might honestly be one of the worst proposals i've ever seen.

This actually isn't that bad, but i would rather get someone else instead of Lukowich because of the defensive log jam, and San Jose would prolly rather have Stajan over Stemper

I agree, but SJ doesn't have anyone else to salary dump, unless we take on contracts longer than 1 season, and even then, the only forward for salary dump they have is Cheechoo, who I personally don't want. That's why I figured Stemp and Lukowich gave fair value:

Stemp >> Lukowich + Cap pace ($2.5M for the Sharks)
White + Hayes < Michalek

Plus, neither of Stemp/Lukowich last longer than this season, and Burke could effectively waive any of Lukowich/Finger/Frogren prior to the season if need be, and will probably trade MVR as well.

johannes salmonsson for Pittsburgh i don't know much about him except that he is a power forward center. what is his upside and would he be even worth trading for?

Also is it possible for chicago trade David Bolland to the leafs or is he pretty much untouchable.
ps we could also try to get a salary dump if possible.

Kesler and Burrows are essential parts of the Vancouver Canucks, highly doubt they will be moved. Plus, Burrows just signed a new contract with Vancouver; it wouldn't look good on Gillis to trade him when his new contract has yet to start.
