#6 Prospect - Loktionov vs. Teubert

Because they were within a vote of one another (and the poll should have closed a bit before), there shall be a vote off

Colten Teubert (13th overall 2008)

vs.

Andrei Loktionov (123rd overall 2008)

Loktionov may ultimately be the better player but it is ludicrous to consider him a better prospect than Teubert at this point.

redcard 08-02-2009 12:07 AM

I gotta go with Tuebert.

Although, this is a hell of a compliment to Loktionov.

Reaper45 08-02-2009 12:13 AM

Teubert.

True dat. A guy taken four rounds after Teubert is garnering the same sort of attention as the first rounded. Amazing.

Although Czarnik, Campbell, and Wudrick would feel slighted if they read these boards.

I voted Lokti last time, but the last thread along with some further thought convinced me to change my vote. Teubert it is.

BTW, who won the 'ADD'?

Cool. How deep are you planning on taking these polls?

My original plan was to do it through 10 - and I also thought that would be the only relevant prospects per se. But it looks like some pretty good prospects might spill over, so I could go to 15 or 20.

I mean, how many of you will be able to give relevant decisions as far as guys like Cliche vs. Campbell and such? It's up to that.

Randart 08-02-2009 04:09 AM

Missed the First Poll For 6th....

Both these guys have so much we would wish from them! They get compared to alot of NHL talented guys! But had to go with CT on this one as well, much as I loved getting Jimmy Neutron and I hope he makes a big splash with us in a couple years! But just Colten I expect to make it at least as a bottom pairing guy!

And to be honest I think he has the potential to be just about everything you could hope from a big rugged defensemen, I have seen his shot and it could be something special with work and a ton of practice... About the only thing he may never bring is rushing the puck. That said if he learns to pass when he is doubled and make a good first pass out of the zone... Wellp he could just be a god send to us for 10 years or more!

Also I mentioned Wudrick a couple Polls back!

Lokti, I disagree with most of you. . just because he was picked higher doesn't mean he's a better prospect. . .

VADEN 08-02-2009 12:59 PM

Lokti

The Tikkanen 08-02-2009 01:11 PM

Lokti put up 33 points in 20 playoff games and was a plus 18-I'll vote for him. Lokti did all the Kings could ask for last season in the OHL.

fuzzerson 08-02-2009 01:32 PM

It is kind of like the Ginger vs Mary Ann debate. At the end of the day you would be happy with either but having both would be ideal.

 like any of this is relevant to the reality of who's going to actually make it or not  not one of us know, we're all just giving an opinion, don't matter if that opinion goes 10 or 20 deep does it ?

The Black1963 08-02-2009 02:05 PM

I think Lokti will be a better player overall but I'm all about the Badassness.

Tuebert is a fairly one-dimensional defenseman. Not that that dimension isn't important to the club, or that he won't be good at it, but Loki is a better prospect right now - and with a higher ceiling.

Omni Owl 08-02-2009 07:13 PM

Loktionov. He adapted to his environment and adjusted his attitude. Teubert needs to do the same.

Care to back this up with some actual information before you make misguided, misinformed judgments about a couple of players you've probably seen play five times total, collectively, and maybe just once or twice in person?

LaLaLand 08-02-2009 07:34 PM

wow this is close.... Loktionov for me anyday of the week

deano 08-02-2009 07:36 PM

Loktionov. He's coming off of an impressive first season in America. Teubert needs to settle down and play his game in juniors next year. All considerations taken, Loktionov has the chance to be a special player, and is going to be a year ahead Teubert in development after next season.
