Habs involve in a potential 3 way trade involving Heatley? (per Ottawa Sun Media)

There is some speculations on a three way deal between Habs, San jose and Ottawa..

The rumor is involving Heatley going to San Jose.

San Jose is offering Cheechoo, Errhoff and a 1st round draft but Murray doesn't like the deal...

it's on RDS but it's JUST A RUMOR... Just don't panic, it's probably just speculation.

Some corrections

It's the Sharks, the Sens and the Habs. The Kings are not included in the rumor.

Also the rumor comes from the Sun media, RDS is just reporting it, the Sun media is the less reliable source in the professionnal media.

If in fact we are in talks with the Sens, I hope Subban's name never comes up.

Pierre Dagenais 08-02-2009 11:52 AM

so.. eklund was right?

LouisJCloutier 08-02-2009 11:53 AM

If I understand this...

Ottawa get rid of Heatley for a nice package from Montreal
San Jose get Heatley for a return that Ottawa didn't want
Montreal receive that average package and send a nice one to Ottawa

It all makes perfect sens to me :shakehead

Eklund is as right as women claiming that her husband has been cheating on her for twenty years, at one point he does it and she says that she was right all along.

lmao, I sense some underlying issues here.....

If SJ wants this deal done and get Heatly, they better be giving out top talent back. None of this Cheecho bs. Gainey knows what ever his giving would likely end up in Ottawa and he'd be dumb to make a trade that puts Ottawa ahead of Montreal in terms of talent. If its for SJ deadweight, then screw that.

vokiel 08-02-2009 12:04 PM

Sun Media picked up the Eklund BS.

''If the Sharks don't have what the Senators want, then (GM) Doug Wilson might have to go get it from another team,'' a league executive told Sun Media on Saturday. ''The Senators want a proven scoring winger in return and that means you might have to get a third team involved.''
The only way this theory could possibly be true: Andrei Kostitsyn. There's no way we'd trade any of the new talent, and there really are no other proven wingers in the lineup.

I really hope its false.

Yeah, pretty much.

Eklund and Garrioch coming together on a rumor is like Patrick Traverse and Karl Dykhuis being paired together.:help:

The Chef* 08-02-2009 12:08 PM

If this scoring winger is a.kost, i'd rather keep a pissed off heatley.

JGRB 08-02-2009 12:09 PM

So who are the rumored names to be coming to Montreal in all of this?

I was under the impression that Cheechoo/Erhoff we're part of the trade coming to us?

I could really picture Ottawa being interested in picking up Plekanec somehow to try to rekindle the Kovy-Plekanec magic... Plus I think Plekanec is a better #2 then Fisher.

Myron Gaines* 08-02-2009 12:12 PM

Imagine Akost in Ottawa on the same line with Kovalev to start the year.:laugh:

HabsFan1904 08-02-2009 12:13 PM

Maybe were getting Kovy back!

:sarcasm:

Quarantesix 08-02-2009 12:14 PM

I don't like this rumor, I can see us end up with the weaker package

Erik Estrada 08-02-2009 12:17 PM

We better not be short changed in a deal involving a team in our division trying to fix one of their own problems!!!

It could also be Michalek from the Sharks and the Habs could be part of the deal by taking some salary from the Sharks so they can fit Heatley under their cap IMO.

Galchenyum 08-02-2009 12:22 PM

I don't want the Habs to do anything which will help Ottawa unless we are the very clear winners. Getting Heatley out of the division is a good thing, but not at the expense of giving them our talent to make up for it.
