Prospect Update

Klingberg has been on fire during the preseason, scored in all games but one I think. And yet he only plays on the third and fourth line. Frölunda have a log jam of forwards, and at least two will be cut before the season starts (due to budget being overspent already), I think Klingberg has secured a roster spot by now which is very impressive considering his competition.

Edit: Ain't there a prospect update thread in the forum section?

Good call Shameus...

Thanks krm500. I believe I read (I will see if I can find the link) that Don has already stated that he believes Klingberg will play with Frölunda for the next 2 seasons and Morin will be back in juniors at least one year.

KRM 08-21-2009 03:03 PM

Klingberg with Frölunda's only goal in a 1-3 loss against Färjestad. That is five goals in six games for Klingberg, only pre-season but still impressive.

Systemfel 09-10-2009 02:07 PM

It seems that Klingberg will be starting his SEL career on a line with NHL vets P.J. Axelsson and Joel Lundqvist. Should be one hell of a unit on the forecheck.

The Sneak 09-10-2009 02:16 PM

Thank you Systemfel. We don't see much SEL coverage. Your input is appreciated. Keep the news coming!

Wow, sounds like a helluva line, can't wait to see what Klinger can produce

Klingberg scores in Frolunda's first game, to tie it up 1-1

25.09 1 - 1 EQ FRÖ 17. KLINGBERG, Carl (18. ANDERSSON, Joakim)

3rd line, with Joakim Andersson and the aforementioned PJ

Each update makes me happier and happier that Klinberg fell to us.

CharlieGirl 10-09-2009 10:47 PM

Morin had his first OHL hat trick tonight, and added an assist in Kitchener's 6-2 win.

The Sneak 10-10-2009 10:51 AM

O'dell had 2 more last night for Sudbury against Saginaw. Yes, against Pasquale. Pasquale did a little bit better only allowing 3 goals in a 5-3 Spirit win

chiefs20167 10-11-2009 02:14 PM

Hey from Spokane! Levko Koper and the Chiefs had two games this weekend and won both of them. Fri 5-2 vs Prince Albert Raiders and Sat 4-1 vs Seattle Thunderbirds.

Kopes has 1G 2PIM and was 3rd Star on Fri and 2A +2 and 2nd Star on Sat.

To date: 7GP 7G 4A +6

Kopes has started off hot this season and it looks like it could go on for awhile. He has improved greatly since he first stared playing with the Chiefs. To be honest when he first started I was wondering where he came from and why. No, he's one of my favorite players on the team.

More later.

CharlieGirl 10-12-2009 02:56 PM

Morin had his 2nd hatty, with a 4 goal afternoon vs Sault Ste Marie. 7 goals in 2 games... not too shabby!

Damn, that sounds great, how is his skating looking?

Not sure what you're thoughts are CG, but here's what I thought of him.

He's definitely got a nose for the net, which was advertised to be his forte. He's not the best skater, but he's very elusive on the ice and seems to be one of those guys who can get himself open. Like any good scorer, he loves to cut to the middle of the ice with the puck on his stick too, which is how he scored his first goal. Came from behind the net, cut to the middle and put it high on Lehner (although it was a weak goal). Other two goals were of the garbage variety, while the 4th was an empty net effort where he stripped Vern Cooper of the puck and had the easy put away. Was very impressed by Morin tonight.

I agree with your assessment Brock - except that the first goal on Lehner was a nice shot over Lehner's shoulder. The 3rd one was a total garbage goal though (bounced off his chest and into the net). Kitchener originally had him on the point on the PP, and it was horrid. Since they moved him down to the halfboards, he's been on fire.

Atlanta, you've got a good one there I think.

Sweet goal by Klingberg in today's game, see highlights.

Holy #*@$ he made the whole team look stupid. Amazing goal, that happens in the NHL and there'd be 6 threads about it here
