Training Camp Roster Announced

Standard cast of characters, minus NCAA players, plus a handful of interesting FA invitees. No veteran tryouts, yet...

Jersey number changes to note (for those that follow things like that...)

Marcel Goc - #9
Ben Guite - #24
Ben Eaves - #45
Peter Olvecky - #38
Nick Spaling - #13
Jon Blum - #7
Nolan Yonkman - #34 - had been #43

Brief info on the invites:
Decaro: Two-time CHL Goaltender of the Year. Likely depth for Cincinnati, but has put up impressive numbers at all levels of professional competition. Alumni of Alaska-Fairbanks.
McLean: Former Guelph Storm who enjoyed a very strong campaign split between Dayton and Lake Erie. He's not really a remarkable player, and likely bound for Cincinnati.
Vandall: Has posted back to back 30 goal seasons with Shawinigan of the QMJHL. Expected to return to the Cataractes for a fourth campaign.
Muzzin: Veteran over-age player for the Soo. Former 5th round pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Is expected to return to Soo for one last season.
Brannon: Wholly unremarkable player with Moncton. Depth for Cincinnati, if he is indeed turning pro.
Strömberg: 18 year old playing in the Djurgarden development system. Scored 3 goals in a 3 game stint with the J20 squad last year after spending most of it with the two J18 squads. Is slated to play for the J20 squad full-time this year.

There are at least five roster spots up for grabs this season, for of them up front. Should be an interesting camp.

Actually, upon further review...there are TWO players assigned #38!!!

Scott Ford and Peter Olvecky are listed as #38 on the training camp roster...

Colin Wilson (#33) is the only player not listed with a number...

Double sadness then.

I just assumed Wilson would keep that number. It's what he wore in college and at the worlds this year.

Yeah, I assume it is simply an omission because Wilson has also worn that number in all the rookie camps since he has been drafted as well...
