Oilers sign Schremp to 1 year, 2 way deal ($715K NHL, $75K AHL)
http://www.edmontonjournal.com/Schre...667/story.html
Schremp signs a 1 year deal, 2 way deal. 715 K if he plays in the NHL, 75 K if he plays in the AHL (he'd have to clear waivers to play in the AHL). |
This signing is delicious.

S**t. Now we have to live with another year of threads about this clown.

I like this.

Not at all surprising.

His last crack, IMO. He has to show something, whether it's here, or a return to form in the AHL.
**** or fly time, Robbie. |
Good luck in Long Island, Rob! Have a great fu&*$ng season playing Rob fu$%*NG Schremp hockey.
|
Does this mean that if he gets cut after training camp he will have to go through waivers? He better step it up.
|
I'm a little confused with regards to how a 2-way contract works.
If we signed him a 2-way contract, isn't he waiver exempt? |

No one will take him. |

Games played/years of service have to do with waivers. 2-way just means how much you make in the NHL/AHL. |
This is Schremps year wether he earns it or not he will be in the line up. I'm ok with that. Were icing 3 scoring lines this year.

Penner-Horcoff-Hemsky Cogliano-Gagner-O'Sullivan Schremp-Brule-Nilsson Moreau-Pouliot-Pisani I hope those are the lines (especially the 3rd line :yo:) |
You know, in a goofy way this contract may actually enhance Rob's chances of making the team.
If nothing else, it certainly gives him a leg up over Nilsson and a potentially signed Comrie if everything else saws off equally during training camp. And with that post out of the way, I shall whip up some popcorn and find myself a comfy lawnchair to watch this thread unfold. |

Hell, IMO you have two legit NHL forwards in the bottom six. |

I see that BBO is online but hasn't posted yet. I hope he didn't get so excited that he fell off his chair and hit his head. :sarcasm:

He needs to make a difference on a 2nd unit PP and not be horrid 5 on 5. I think he will make the cut. You still need depth and he's at worst a good filler player if and when an offensive guy goes down. My problem is that we dropped Brodziak and kept Pouliot. Pouliot, Jacques, Schremp, Brule, Nilsson...way too many marginal players. I would trade 4 of these guys for 2 established, reasonably priced veteran bottom 6 guys.
