omg. EVERY time I hear this song I think how the Preds should have this playing out over the plaza as people are coming into the arena for the first game or play it before the team comes out for warmups in the first game. :yo:

Very excited to see Colin Wilson play!!

Jarnberg 09-17-2009 09:17 AM

If anyone could do me a favor and keep an eye on Crabb and how he does. He's one player I've liked since he played with Colorado College.

Any radio broadcasting for use out-of-staters and internet lovers?

All of the preseason games are being broadcast on radio (104.5 FM) during the preseason. Unfortunately, no TV coverage....

Ryan Ellis and Colin Wilson will be in the lineup tonight! Ellis will start in goal, but will split the game with someone else (Dekanich is my guess). "2 of our more experienced defensemen will be in the lineup tonight" as well as the trio of Sully - Arnott - Dumont.

This is a lot of what I expected, although I would suspect it's Pickard instead of Dekanich, if for no other reason than to get all the high-profile prospects in the first preseason home game.

My expectations for a lineup are something like this:

Sullivan-Arnott-Dumont
Jones-O'Reilly-Tootoo/Ward (if he's healthy)
Hörnqvist-Wilson-Maki
Grant-Goc-McKenzie

Weber-Suter
Blum-Lääkso
R. Ellis-Yonkman

D. Ellis
Pickard

I think that's a pretty good overall mix of prospects, players vying for roster spots, and roster players. Then, for the next game, you have:

Santorelli-Legwand-Erat
Olvecky-Spaling-Thuresson
Jessiman-Eaves-Santorelli
Smithson-Guite-Belak

Hamhuis-Klein
Sulzer-Franson
Dietrich-Matheson/Sinkewich/Ford

Rinne
Dekanich

Im interested to see Kane and Esposito for the Thrash.

I dont really care for Atlanta, dont particularly like or dislike them, but I sure as heck root for them simply in hopes that southern expansion will rule the Canadian teams at their own game.

From Glennon:

Quote:

The 12 forwards are Jason Arnott, Wade Belak, J.P. Dumont, Ben Eaves, Patric Hornqvist, Ryan Jones, Peter Olvecky, Cal O’Reilly, Nick Spaling, Steve Sullivan, Andreas Thuresson and Colin Wilson.

The six defensemen are Ryan Ellis, Cody Franson, Teemu Laakso, Alexander Sulzer, Ryan Suter and Shea Weber.

The two goalies are Dan Ellis and Mark Dekanich.
So... no Blum...

Ellis

interesting

Jarnberg 09-17-2009 02:43 PM

I wouldn't look too much in Blum not playing tonight.

All of the positions contain a mixture of NHL and AHL players, with the exception of Ellis, who will get a game before being sent back to juniors.

Panopticon 09-17-2009 02:58 PM

I'm also pretty sure I read somewhere that Ellis starting in net was confirmed, but I don't remember where...

barrytrotzsneck 09-17-2009 04:04 PM

my guesses, based on what I saw at camp and in the scrimmage:

Sullivan Arnott Dumont
Hornqvist Wilson Eaves
Spaling O'Reilly Jones
Belak Olvecky Thuresson

Weber Ellis
Suter Laakso
Sulzer Franson

Ellis
Dekanich

VAThrasher 09-17-2009 05:53 PM

Good luck this year Preds! The 3 years I spent in Franklin (2000-2003) easily made the Predators my 2nd team. Take it easy on our "B-teamers" tonight.
