Kyle Clifford

Just wondering how he has been looking so far this pre-season.

Any information on points/hits/fights and overall game so far would be appreciated.

Thanks

Everyone loves this kid so far. People were originally knocking him because he was a "2nd round pick with no hands", but he looks to be a gem imo.

Nice hustle, decent at cycling the puck, dropped the gloves with Yandle but Yandle is a Yangina and just stared at him so KC picked up a roughing minor, one real nice back-hand flip pass on the rush that impressed me along with a bad play on the PK in which he had all kinds of time to clear the puck but failed to do so. That's all from his first pre-season game...I won't talk about Rookie Camp because it's been discussed ad naseum on the board already....I will say it looked like he was more concerned with fighting than playing hockey.

I'm looking at a sort of Avery/Neil hybrid. Management seems to be high on him from all accounts.

 It took me a while to figure out what a Yangina was.. For a second there, I thought you were referring to Yanzi or Yangtze's river in China. silly me.

I was little disappointed that DL picked him at second instead of any other finesse players or snipers but his style of play made me forget about the whole thing. Hopefully Clifford and Simmonds will create some havoc in few years.

a lot of people didn't notice that he also nearly bagged a goal that would have looked VERY similar to Boedeker's.

all of this.

i appreciated his work ethic on the ice. he worked through checks and just didn't give up.

he's a couple if not a few years away from becoming an NHL'er IMHO...

I really like everything I've been able to gather about this kid. Seems like a real steal and could develop into a Milan Lucic style player.

I know hes still at camp I believe hes been playing with Schenn, correct?

Everyone is high on this kid....The traits of Daniel Carcillo, Chris Neil, and Milan Lucic....
