ooh fancy!

we should link the old one, no?

squishy 09-22-2009 10:07 AM

You forgot Valentenko. ;)

DontStepanMe 09-22-2009 10:15 AM

You forgot Mitch Gaulton

nyr2k2 09-22-2009 02:28 PM

So there's Chris Chappell and Sam Klassen as well. I assume they're both turning pro and headed to either Hartford or Charlotte, which is why I haven't included them.

Playing abroad, we also have Roman Psurny and Zdenek Bahensky. They both suck and probably won't come back to the States, so I'm not tracking them.

Greg Beller and Eric Hunter are also out there, but I don't think we hold their rights at this point. They both suck too.

If anyone thinks any of the aforementioned players need to be tracked in this thread, just say so and I'll include them.

DontStepanMe 09-22-2009 02:55 PM

you should also include a link to the prospects central page on the Rangers official website... they track the scoring for all prospects as well. This way I can keep track of the superstardom of Greg Beller. ;)

Great post, nyr2k2.

These charts will make things easy when following their seasons.

I can't wait for the NCAA season to start.

I'm anxious to see how Stepan, Kreider, and McDonagh continue to develop.

Inferno 09-22-2009 03:35 PM

you forgot Inferno. I will email you my stats shortly...

;-)

Your contributions are never forgotten, Inferno.

nyr2k2 09-22-2009 04:25 PM

I'm thinking that I might track the ECHL guys in here--depending on who is assigned to the AHL team--since the only other prospect thread will be the Wolf Pack thread.

ecemleafs 09-22-2009 04:57 PM

we will at least have one goalie in the echl most likely, possibly nueveseis

nyr2k2 09-22-2009 05:07 PM

If anyone knows where the hell David Skokan will be playing, I'd love to know. He played in the Slovak Extraliga last season but isn't on any rosters that I can see for this year.

As far as I know Skokan is still in the Extraliga, but I will check with the Rangers again and let you know tomorrow.

Beller and Hunter are still on the Rangers reserve list. It's the very quirky thing of the NHL considering the CIS as "college" for purposes of the CBA. It's a loophole that thus far has had no impact, but theoretically, can be a very interesting way to hold onto a former CHLer's rights longer than two years without signing him.

Thanks for the info, Leslie.

Awesome chart. I like this.

RangerBoy 09-23-2009 08:40 PM

Scott Stajcer picked win #1 tonight. #2 star of the game.

Chris Doyle was 1-2-3 in his first regular season game (after a suspension for bumping a linesman in preseason) tonight.

Great start for him. Hopefully he continues on his pace that he started last season.

I didnt see it but from what he said he didnt do it on purpose. It was more incidental after he and the ref disagreed so they threw him out.

Saw the game.

Stajcer was very shaky in the first period, but really settled down as the game went on. The two goals he gave up in the first were a direct result of very poor rebound control. That being said, the rebounds would have been a non issue had Owen Sound defenders tied up their man. He does have a tendency to give up bad rebounds on low shots to his pads. Stajcer needs to learn how to direct his rebounds to the corner and away from the slot. On high shots, he's excellent though and does a very good job of controlling shots to his chest. Another thing I'd like to see from Stajcer is for him to be more aggressive in challenging shooters. He rarely leaves the blue ice of his crease and got caught deep in his net a few times. He got lucky with a couple posts too. But you have to give him credit for shutting the door in the second and the third. He finished the game with 32 saves on 34 shots, got the win and was named the game's 2nd star.

It is the 7th column, but that is also a little hard to read - I think we're all used to seeing Pos., GP, G, A, Pts, PIM, +/-, in that order.

I know those charts are a pain in the butt to create, but if it's not too much work to move that one column up, I think it would help.

nyr2k2 09-24-2009 10:27 AM

Sorry guys I've been crazy busy with work lately. I will update the numbers and adjust the column ordering this evening some time.
