Phoenix Coyotes Preview

Rusty's Coyotes preview:

Quote:

Where to start with the Coyotes? Lost amid all the summer hubbub is the fact that a young team with a great core calls the desert home. Despite a 36-39-7 record last season (79 points) and a 13th place in the West finish, the Coyotes have some pieces in place that should allow them to more forward should they find a home and/or have itsí affairs settled.

One of the bonuses of being a poor team for so long is the draft picks (ask Chicago). Off-ice woes aside, the Desert Dogs have been able to draft fairly well in recent years, with many of these picks finding their way to the NHL already. Kyle Turris, Peter Mueller, Martin Hanzal and Keith Yandle are all regulars on the team and are slowly but surely forming what should be a solid core.

Agree or disagree? Is anything missing? Input welcome.

"fairly well" ?

Turris is not a regular and has already been sent down to SA to start the season there.
They should have mentioned Boedker.

He changed the part about Turris when someone commented earlier. Good catch.

This is the best preview posted by a HFB partner.....that said, I can't get to the link because of a work firewall.:sarcasm:

Can we get all these preview's stickied into 1 thread?

It would be a good way to compare the crap reviews from the good ones (now that I know a good one exists):

The writer didn't really make a prediction, but even if he had predicted a 14th place finish, I'd respect it because at least he addressed 90% of the roster, provided insight into the reasons why it is possible for the team to surprise, and even possibly make the playoffs.

Hopefully Rusty's review isn't awful like the other previews we've seen.....

well, I'm not sure if this is worse than the 'previews' which did little research, or if it's the worst because it appears like research was done, but includes the followingcomments :

So, you might wonder who is going to handle the tough minutes? Reinprecht is gone, and there isnít an ideal candidate to replace him.
Rhino played the 'tough' minutes :amazed:

Defenseman of the future Zbynek Michalek
