Thotnton should sit out until the B's lose

The Bruins played one of their best games of the season without Thornton on Sunday.
Murray actually moved his body without Thornton on Sunday.
Gonchar actually looked interested on Sunday.

A Bruin team without Thornton is a hungry, desperate team.
A Bruin team with Thornton is a lazy, complacent team.

The stakes are too high for Thornton to be sitting out if he could be playing. He's one of the best overall players in the league.. he should play if he can. Why take the chance of losing the series opener? We could use all the help we can get

.. but i do agree, in theory it sounds nice

Your theory would work only if Thornton was out the vast majority of this season, and the Bruins played better without him in the lineup.

Bottom line is that I've seen hungry Bruins teams this season with AND without Joe. Having Thornton on this team makes hungry team far better.

and didn't Thornton miss saturdays game, were the whole team looked as dissinterestd and 'full' (as opposed to hungry) as they have in a long time.?

And they played one of their worst games of the season without him the day before. You CANNOT judge a team's performance on ONE game...good or bad.

I'm assuming you don't watch a lot of Bruins games. The game on Saturday - where they lost 5-2 - was one of thier worst games all year. And surprisingly enough, Thornton was not in the line-up that night. I've seen the Bruins hungry with or without Joe, but when the playoffs are at stake, sitting Joe out until they lose is simply a plan for failure.

Get him in as soon as he and the staff feel he can play well enough to resume his position as first-line centre and captain.
