Rangers Road Support: NYR @ Boston Bruins 01/09/10 (TRIP IS ON!)

I made this thread to potentially orgainze a road trip for Ranger fans in this forum. The idea came up from the "Blueshirts United" thread because us fans were not happy with the crazy prices set for being a member of a fan club. Hopefully, we can organize some sort of Ranger trip in which we get 50+ people to go support our team on the road. We can get group discount on seating, and find a few buses to take us to our destination.

If you are interested in such an event, please list your name and email below. I'll need someone to help organize this as well, so if you are interested in that, please email me directly at ejlong@live.com. If it seems like enough people are interested, I will contact everyone through email and start to research prices and such.

Lets Go Rangers!

EDIT: October 23rd

We are currently planning a trip to see NYR @ BOS for Jan 9th, 2010. This is a 1pm game.

All in attendence MUST wear Ranger gear! If you have none, some will be provided for you.
Round Trip Bus transportation from NYC to Boston will be provided.
We are either getting group tickets to the general seating bowl (through stubhub or Bruins box office) OR a combination of two suites next to each other.

Price will be between 120.00 to 200.00 per person, including transportation, ticket, and food/drink. (Suite only)

If you want to come, make sure I have your email address.

ejlong@Live.com

More Details to come----

EDIT: November 9th

We are using the MegaBus transportation from Madison Square Garden to Boston.
We are using stubhub for tickets, section and row TBD. All of us will buy seats in the same area.
Each person/party can purchase thier own bus ticket and game ticket so there is no need to layout money in advance.

EDIT: December 10th
This trip is ON.
Please use stubhub or another ticket website to purchase tickets in Section 328 Rows 11,12,13,14,15.
Visit megabus website for information on how to book transportation from the Garden.

IN !

My dream has always been organized Rangers road support.

Not a fan club.
Not a booster club.

A Supporters club.
Undying vocal support for Rangers hockey on the road for 60 minutes plus. The more beer and people we have the better.

I emailed you my contact info.

Doctor Strange 10-08-2009 04:01 PM

Definitely interested!

Haha Im glad your excited, but just leave me your email so I can contact everyone at once. I'll send out mass emails about how we can go about organizing such an event. But first, we need more people;)

Depends on where we would go but I would be interested. Being a college student it depends on alot of things but it sounds like a cool idea.

So at the moment we're looking at renting a van, grabbing a 30 pack for the tailgate and buying some tickets on Craigslist. :yo:

nyrmetros 10-08-2009 04:29 PM

Here are the most logical games based on being on a Sat or Sunday.

Sat Dec 19, 2009 Rangers Flyers 1:00 PM

Sat Jan 9, 2010 Rangers Bruins 1:00 PM

Sat Mar 6, 2010 Rangers Capitals 7:00 PM

Sun Mar 21, 2010 Rangers Bruins 3:00 PM

Sun Apr 11, 2010 Rangers Flyers 3:00 PM

Sounds like a blast to me haha.

So far, my early thinkings are either Philly or Boston. Both are weekend day games.

I went to a game in Boston two years ago. They only served beer to people 25+ with an out of state ID. Needless to say I was not pleased.

nyr2k2 10-08-2009 04:36 PM

If you guys are serious about this and really want to get something going, I'd say pick a date or two now and we can consider making it a sticky. We need to gauge interest first though.

You wouldn't be opposed to a Caps game, now would you?;)

Another great reason to fill up a charter bus with 50 fellow brangers supporters and drink on it.

Of course not! If a bunch of HF people came down for a game, I would gladly join in.

Yeah, MA is a ***** about buying alcohol. I need a ****ing passport to get into the bar on my campus.

To buy booze at most liquor stores you either need a MA license, or you have to get a special license just for buying alcohol.

NYRangers88 10-08-2009 05:05 PM

The two games I suggest are:

Sat Dec 19, 2009 Rangers Flyers 1:00 PM

Sat Jan 9, 2010 Rangers Bruins 1:00 PM

because a) they are weekend day games and b) both within 4 hours driving distance and c) no need for hotel

That's not that bad, I figured a longer ride. I wouldn't be opposed to spending the night either and checking out the night life.
