Glassman Salo - Knee Injury - (Out 4-6 Weeks)

Salo has been injured 28 times since 2000 missing 138 games out of a possible 802 (I think?) games.

So that means he's been injured on average about 3 times a year.

Even the injury tonight; although, the post-game on the radio said they weren't sure which incident caused it, Sportsnet was showing the light hit in the corner.

I can't believe he was injured from that if true, it was a routine hit!

I feel bad for the guy. It's not like he purposely gets hurt. He's just not built for a rough game.

Ahhhh, that sucks. Salo makes such a huge contribution to our blueline it's really a drag he gets hurt so much. I hope he can come back soon. Any word on when Schneider might be ready?

You may be underestimating the number of injuries slightly. According to Cam Cole writing last play-offs, the snake bitten Salo (both literally and figuratively) had suffered 34 injuries - mind you it is hard to be exact as they have plied up so quickly.

It actually looked more like groin injury the way Salo was skating when he left the ice and it had been reported earlier he was nursing an injury before the Habs game when he missed practise for a "maintenance day".

Which is why Gillis' decision to bring in so many defensemen at the beginning of the season is looking better all the time. It's too bad he didn't try harder to keep Lukowich squirreled away somewhere.
