Latendresse available if anyone wants him

According to Tony Marinaro on the Team 990 this morning:

Latendresse is available if anyone wants him!

This is coming from Tony Marinaro himself, this morning on the Team 990 at around 11:40 AM.

He also stated that this is from his sources close to the team.

Discuss!

Note: Let's please NOT make this the English VS French thread and let's treat it like any other player rumored to be available.

Hasn't this guy been wrong before ?

One Trick Pony 10-23-2009 06:53 PM

If anyone wants him sums it up

Jee 10-23-2009 06:54 PM

Latendresse won't live up to the expectations on a third line.

put him with Pleky and A.Kost.

Qui Gon Dave 10-23-2009 06:56 PM

I heard this too. Birthdays, weddings, christenings, the lot... all at low, low prices. Free if catering is provided.

No. He's a ***** and won't go in front of the net.

Quarantesix 10-23-2009 06:56 PM

I heard that if Lats get trade ,Brunet will light himself on fire

I laughed.

But seriously, I don't believe many teams would be interested and if by chance there was one or two, we'd receive a 3rd or 4th in return or at worse "future considerations".

Since he has a hard time learning to get in front of the net, here is what I propose. It'll be much easier to train a pitbull to chase Latendresse until he stands in front of the net. Once in front, the dog will sit behind him and keep his eyes on him. Should Lats move, the dog takes a chunk out of him.

Breaking news: video has just surfaced that might show exactly this happening...

sampollock 10-23-2009 07:03 PM

he is a pretty boy, and we would get a 4th or 5th round pick for him

It doesn't matter where you put him when he is entering his 4th year in the league and still doesn't play the way they want him to.

I really like the guy but at this point if he won't go in front of the net i could care less if he is gone.

WestIslander 10-23-2009 07:04 PM

I want him traded for MANY reasons but will not get into them because I do not want to make this the French/English thread and DO NOT want to get into the media politics etc.

habdynasty 10-23-2009 07:08 PM

Maybe he will be part of the S Kostitsyn package deal,

Lats doesn't live up to the expectations of a third line.

Dont put him with Pleky and A.Kost.

DeVries* 10-23-2009 07:09 PM

Clearly Latendresse will never be material to play on the two first line. He is a career 3rd-4th liner, but because he is French and that the Habs suck at drafting star players since years, people were sure he was a 30-40 goals guy with first line talent.

He can go now I don't care ; he shows every night what some were telling since 3 years : that guy is overrated and can't work hard.

BeBen* 10-23-2009 07:09 PM

Lol just to hear Brunet go ******* live because Latendresse was traded would be PRICELESS

Frankenheimer 10-23-2009 07:12 PM

He doesn't have enough trade value to trade. He's worth more if he can integrate into the new system. I would try him on the first line a few games, even they want to trade him.

Kirk Muller 10-23-2009 07:13 PM

The fact he has basically no trade value and isn't really hurting the club is reasons i wouldn't trade him. Then i just pray he starts using his size and being more aggressive.

Quarantesix 10-23-2009 07:13 PM

trade Lats and Carle for Frolov
call up Sergei

and if you want to see old and grow men crying watch Lattaque a 5 and L'antichambre.

Latendresse + Kostitsyn + 2nd round Pick for Kopitar and Frolov

Fish on The Sand 10-23-2009 07:15 PM

lol at people saying he's worth a 4th rounder. He's like what, 22? Already showed flashes of a being a good goal scorer. He has been horribly misused this season and its shown. Why exactly have Lapierre and MaxPac (both who have been worse than Lats) been given opportunities on scoring lines while Lats was kept on the 3rd line?
