adam mair on waivers

according to tsn hes making 750K what do you think of claiming mair for an injury replacement?

RangerFan10 11-09-2009 10:08 PM

Getting tired of the suggested waiver claims for all these goons, because when Brashear is healthy and we're stuck with them they're going to have to play somewhere, and I don't want to see Hartford with Voros AND a guy like Mair.

Dagoon44 11-09-2009 10:49 PM

Adam MAir is far from a goon. He is older and his body is worn out but to call him a goon just proves a lot of people don't know what a goon is.

Vitto79 11-09-2009 10:51 PM

if it's at the expense of Voros then cool, save 250 K overall. Voros now has as spot available in Hartford with Arnason gone. I would be fine with Dandenault up aswell

If this was Mair 2-3 years ago I would say yes but Byers right now is at the very least equivalent if not better.

The guy scores 5 or 6 goals and tallies some assists and he's not a good? Still a 4th line player, still a fringe heavyweight, still a goon. If you don't like the term goon, I'll call him a mook, or a bender.

Hanke 11-10-2009 05:35 AM

ummmmmmm, no!

Levitate 11-10-2009 07:02 AM

Mair is a pretty bad player these days. There's a reason he's being waived

Fitzy 11-10-2009 07:09 AM

My god! The solution to all our problems... just sitting there on Waivers.

Is that the standard?

Send in the clowns.....

The answer to team toughness is not importing goons. Its a mental thing, and Torts is the guy that needs to get these players to play with some balls.

Adam Mair, .......

Bird Law 11-10-2009 10:07 AM

Adam Mair is not the same player he was before. I would've loved him a few years ago, but not now.

Pass....

n8 11-10-2009 11:23 AM

Ha, yeah Mair for Voros. Call Darcy up.

eco's bones 11-10-2009 12:15 PM

Mair had a decent season for him last year. What's going on with the Sabres this year I don't know. He's not a legit heavyweight. He's a team player--as a fighter a very good middleweight. He has fought some tough guys and usually he winds up giving more than he recieves. As a replacement for Voros--sure. As a replacement for Byers or Boyle I don't think so.

NYR Lunchbox 11-10-2009 12:44 PM

well mair has now cleared waivers so this is all now a dead horse to kick
