Finally a game.

The Lunatic Fridge 11-12-2009 03:04 AM

5 days off and we've still played 4 more games than atlanta

No Kovalchuk tonight. Can we please capitalize for once?

darko 11-12-2009 03:22 AM

Ughh that was a long break. No Kovy = win for Rangers, 4-2. Antropov with his first 2 of the season, Gabby with a hat trick however.

LGR

EvilEmpire94 11-12-2009 03:30 AM

Well if Kovalchuk does not play the Rangers can take another game off and just stand around...right?:help:
This team has a habit of playing down to its injury riddled competition.

CaptainCallahan* 11-12-2009 04:51 AM

Cant take these crap teams lightly. These are the games you need to win so come March we aren't scrambling. Come out with something to prove boys, injury to one is just an opportunity for another!

7-6-1 screams "crap team" to you?

AJRanger 11-12-2009 05:32 AM

Atlanta have been playing pretty well, can't afford any defensive slips at all. That said, minus Kovi i'd like to think we can pull this one out no matter whether it's Hank or Vally in net.

King of cool 11-12-2009 05:34 AM

A crap team 6 points behind us in the standings with 4 games less played...

Kovalchuk may play tonight.

Quote:

Just told that Atlanta's Ilya Kovalchuk now intends to travel to NY and may try to play Thursday vs. Rangers. This is a change of plans.

The Lunatic Fridge 11-12-2009 07:04 AM

Can they make up thier damn mind? first the coach insists he's going to play then he says he is sitting out now kovalchuk says he's going to try to play.

:shakehead

Synergy27 11-12-2009 07:25 AM

I for one hope that both Kovalchuk and Kane play. This game will be pretty painful to watch otherwise.

FutureGM97 11-12-2009 07:31 AM

Got to come out strong and keep it simple. Take advantage of the light schedule in terms of number of games and get the wins.

OrbitalDynamics 11-12-2009 07:46 AM

How about a win? An honest to god sixty minute long effort, put your foot on the neck of this team and don't let up for sixty minutes.

I'm so frustrated watching this team flail around like a fish out of water, losing to teams depleted by injuries and not being able to score a goal unless No.10 produces it.

Win the ^%$#@ing game.

I hope they play too.. If we win, more fun and gain some confidence.

If we lose, better chance for call ups and get some experience while its still early in season

Sad London Ranger 11-12-2009 08:07 AM

Is Lundy out?

More like, can't take these crap goaltenders lightly. I vividly recall Hedberg looking like Hasek en route to a SO victory over the Rangers in their last meeting. What else is new, right?

Other than they have pavajlec(sp) who has played amazing?....yeah nothing new :help:

Amazing? If you say so. He got pulled in his last start and Hedberg's played 2 straight. Hedberg won his last game and won the last game they played against the Rangers. I'd be pretty surprised if they went with Pavelec. Pleasantly surprised, but surprised.

ColonialsHockey10 11-12-2009 08:44 AM

Even without Kovalchuk the Thrasher's top 6 isn't bad guys, don't sell them short.

94now 11-12-2009 09:02 AM

Atlanta is anything but crappy team. They are on par with Rangers talent wise. They pay similar type of uptempo hockey. W/o Kovalchuk they are better than us w/o Gaborik. So it will be tough contest. I think Kovalchuk playing will be a warm up decision. Lundqvist should be in net. If his problem didn't go away with more that a week, we are in trouble.
LGR!!

silverfish 11-12-2009 09:05 AM

A 60 minute effort please, with some passion sprinkled on top.

Is that too much to ask?

For this team, I think it is.

Of course he's going to try to play. He's got to show it off for his future devoted fanbase. They should just go ahead and give the guy a full tour of the facilities while he's in town.

:)

Hank's struggling with a sore thigh. I think he'll play though.

GeorgeHamiltonsTan 11-12-2009 09:36 AM

looking at the standings, noticing everyone else in the division is winning (sans pittsburgh thank god), the friggin piles are 3 points behind...i think now is a good time for this team to get its head out of thier collective arses and starting playing with a sense of desparation. enough of this crap, lets go!

still no callups?

morffin 11-12-2009 09:41 AM

is that right...Byers leads the team in PIM?

Lost a lot of the enthusiasm I had for this team after the Calgary showing.
I can put up with crappy teams... but gutless teams w/o pride are hard to watch.

Whats the +/_ on Henri getting run tonight and the Rangers doing nothing about it?
