Blair Betts out at least 4 weeks with a dislocated shoulder, according to Paul Holmgren.
Not sure if it's posted elsewhere, but it was posted on their official twitter account.
Just what we needed. Great.

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Flyers lost more than a hockey game Saturday night at Jobing.com Arena.

Veteran center Blair Betts again dislocated his right shoulder and will miss four to six weeks, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

Meanwhile, another center, Darroll Powe incurred a strained left shoulder against San Jose. He will begin rehab in a few days, and will also miss four to six weeks.

Betts' injury came on a non-contact play midway into the opening period of a 3-1 loss.

“He jumped up at the puck and ended up dislocating the same shoulder again,” Holmgren said. “Obviously, it’s a significant amount of time [he’ll miss]. At least four weeks.”

Holmgren wasn’t sure which forward would be recalled for Monday’s game in Colorado. Jon Kalinski, Jared Ross and Jon Matsumoto are possibilities with the Phantoms.

Ugly.

I do not want Kolanos called up... Give Matsumoto a shot.

chaosof99* 11-21-2009 10:09 PM

You got to be kidding me

It really sucks losing Betts again for an extended period of time.

JLHockeyKnight 11-21-2009 10:11 PM

I'm gonna say the same thing I said in the GDT.

*clears throat*

Powe with a significant shoulder injury. Damn. Damn. Damn.

HoverCarle* 11-21-2009 10:38 PM

Kalinski will be a good 4th liner. Legein maybe

BlueCollarCaptain 11-21-2009 10:39 PM

We have the worst ****in karma, I swear to God.

sa cyred 11-21-2009 10:39 PM

And Cote stays in the lineup.. How bout we call TWO players up Homer. That would be the ****ing smart choice. I still say Matsumoto and Maroon

RoDu 11-21-2009 11:34 PM

I want to bury my head in the sand right now

I like this plan. Cote and his 2 minutes of ice time tonight was really useful. :shakehead

Valhoun* 11-21-2009 11:50 PM

And our sterling record with Betts out of the lineup will continue...

SnS 11-22-2009 12:06 AM

I guess we'll have to get used to Riley in the lineup...

only one word. ****

DeadPhish5858 11-22-2009 07:15 AM

Can we even win without Betts?

nevermore 11-22-2009 08:01 AM

This weekend just keeps getting better and better.

jb** 11-22-2009 08:11 AM

i am going to assume they want to replace those 2 with similar guys. so to me ward and kalinski are the choices. i have no idea if they are playing well at all. matosmuto they seemed to have soured on. calling jones up and having his cap will bite them in the ass no doubt. they cant make a trade as those 2 ar emaking only what 600k?. please though dont play cote. also stevens infatuation with pyro has to stop. why the hell he is on a scoring line is beyond me. he is a bottom line player. plain and simple.

shamski7 11-22-2009 09:11 AM

wtf... why does betts' shoulder keep dislocating? cant they do something to strengthen the shoulder so it stops popping out?

balls

RoDu 11-22-2009 09:29 AM

It's going to be tough to win with a third of our forwards injured, three of which for a long time, time for someone to step up and be a hero

Duct tape, lots of it.

Since they posted the article that their record was 10-1 with Betts, they lost two games and lost Betts to injury. Without Betts we are 2-4-1 or something so this looks like it could be a very long 4 weeks even though the time Betts lost before was during those two weeks where we had like 3 games so our record without him could go either way. Here's hoping.

DrinkFightFlyers 11-22-2009 09:53 AM

Call up Maroon for crying out loud! Or make a *****ing trade! Betts out for a month is going to kill this team.
