What to do with Kovalev?

?

Vicious 04-14-2004 02:11 PM

Sign him.

Mooch 04-14-2004 02:14 PM

Same as above!

If he wants more than 5 or 5.5 millions, let him go.

If he doesn't, SIGN HIM PLEASE!

I think that Kovalev makes us better, so keep him. We outplayed the Bruins so far, he is a big reason why...

Can't have enough of those guys who have the ability of scoring game-breaking goals. I say we should sign him to a short-term contract.

Lewis63 04-14-2004 02:20 PM

sign him to a 3 year contract or less

417 04-14-2004 02:22 PM

Definately sign him 2 or 3 years max

But there's no way he'd ever sign a deal like that, since there are still GMs in the league who will fall all over themselves to guarantee him $6M for 5 years or whatever.

Total massive Aside:
I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but they were saying last night that Alexei's ?wife? is expecting in 2 weeks. Not sure of their family situation. But. If it's his wife, and they're close, and she's stuck in New York, and knowing the stresses of late-stage pregnancies and so on... well, I'd cut Alexei a certain amount of slack on his late-season slump factoring that in.
